Let’s go with the ambitious approach.

Me: "Don't you dare" sounds perfectly normal but "do not you dare" sounds ridiculous which is insane because "don't" is a contraction for "do not." Doctor: I meant is anything bothering you physically

This is one of the dependency philosophies I covered in this talk, and I think more teams should do it! When I was onstage, I asked how many people in the audience do this, and only one person raised their hand: Andrew Kelley, creator of @ziglang. piped.video/E82ly38YEEQ?si=CmGb…

Absolutely. Smaller dependencies are better than ever, and I stand by that most vulnerabilities come from upgrading, not stagnating.

BTW I live in NYC now. A lot less time flexible now than I was two years ago what with having a full time job and all, but lemme know if you wanna meet and get coffee or something!

There is no heap, no malloc, no GC, no reference counting, no destructors. Every value lives on a (address space reserved) data stack the compiler statically assigns. Growing is a pointer bump. Freeing a deeply nested tree is one store when its scope ends. 2/

More progress on the road to Elm 1.0! See the rough roadmap here: elm-lang.org/news/another-st… We have a few patch releases lined up, and then we can get to the more exciting improvements that are enabled by having end-to-end types with Acadia databases!

What an interview! This is an eloquent and candid experience report (plus tech demo) from @roc_lang's most prolific production user. Niclas has been getting paid to use Roc in production for 2 years (!) even though it's not (quite) at version 0.1.0 yet. piped.video/12yVcgQHAK0?si=z2iD…

The same thing with happen with AI video as happened with AI writing and AI art. As soon as we're oversaturated on a style, it becomes gauche. We want to see novelty, we want to see style, and above all we want to see craft.
Opus 5.5 can generate great videos. Everyone is doing it. I wonder how long before all of these videos become worthless, now that they are so cheap. I mean, I watched the first two and now I am done. I guess part of the value for me always was the implied human effort.

in Delta (delta.dev), you can easily learn about the product from the product. if you're unsure whether we already support something you're missing, just @-mention delta at any time and you'll get the answer right away, without even having to visit the docs :)

curious if someone from @NotionHQ here could share a bit about the heuristic to notify someone that's been @-mentioned on a document. when does the app know it's time to fire-off the email/app notification pipeline?

Really enjoyed the talk. I watched Casey's OOPs talk at the time. This provided a lively additional followup. Making my way through the video links in the YT description.

So at the beginning I foolishly tempted fate by joking with @cmuratori that there would be no technical difficulties with the recording. It ended up having *by far* the most technical difficulties of any recording in the history of the show. Lesson learned: do not self-curse.

For people wanting to use DeltaDB from an agent harness other than Delta, can you help me understand the specific capabilities and workflows you hope that would enable for you? I'm trying to improve my understanding of what people are wanting out of this use case. Thanks!
