He is 19. He has his whole life ahead of him. But right now, he’s been in a hospital bed for 17 straight days. The doctors are standing in the hallway trying to hand me hospice paperwork. They say there is nothing more they can do. They say he doesn't qualify for clinical trials because his platelet counts are too low. So the system’s answer is to give up. I will never give up. He has been on the Joe Tippens protocol for over a year. I have him on every supplement, every tea, every diet change I can find. I have spent every waking hour reading, researching, and fighting. I am not a doctor, but I am his mother. And a mother’s research never stops. He is far too young, and he has so much to give this world. I am writing this because I need help. If you have been through this if you have fought aggressive cancers, if you have dealt with low platelets blocking treatment, if you know of doctors who think outside the box please tell me. Activists are calling on Mundo Marino aquarium in Argentina to release a 35-year-old orca who has been confined to a small tank since 1992. The orca, Kshamenk, stares at the gate of the tank for "24 hours a day." Kshamenk's tankmate died in 2000 meaning he has been all alone for 24 years. Orcas are highly social animals that need interaction with each other. "We continue to work with Argentinian activists and members of Congress to try to highlight and address his cruel world," a spokesperson for UrgentSeas said. "He needs to be removed from his tiny concrete tank and to join other members of his species before it's too late."
