It's good to see Sheffield continuing the roll-out of 20mph to all its communities. The latest Traffic Regulation Order covers Arbourthorne and Bradway.
The Mayor of London has asked Government for new powers over wood burners but no ban exists and London's rules haven't changed. londonbusinessjournal.co.uk/…
Darwin award required. To the stoker, they think throwing logs on is worthy of applause. Each log thrown on requires the whole neighborhood to stand and applause. They also admire their own stinking rooftop pipe.
These are my words and constant preaches.
On top of that, the air used up by the combustion process inside the stove is drawn in from the outside, binging all of the toxic smoke chemicals and particulate matter back into the house.
Poisoning the stinker himself.

Sadiq Khan would be absolutely right to look at wood burning. It's a major source of harmful PM2.5 pollution. Only a tiny minority actually rely on it for heating. We should be looking seriously at phasing it out, with support for those who depend on it telegraph.co.uk/money/consum…
This is excellent news if true and we really get "zero emissions zones." Hopefully its not just another rehash of the “Ecodesign” & “Burn Better” myths. Disappointing @Telegraph mentions ASA ruling against B&H council but not against the Stove Industry Alliance's misinformation!

“From nappies to Christmas trees, cardboard to household rubbish, new data has shown the items being burned in wood-burning stoves…”
This “data” is from the UK wood stove industry.

ALT A fire burns in a modern wood stove. Text says, “Wood burning industry admits people use their wood stoves as trash incinerators.”
A 15 year plan essentially kicks the can down the road. Residents say they want cleaner air. Unfortunately, burning wood heaters will not deliver cleaner air.
This is scandalous! Yet another neighbour driven out of their home by a selfish wood burner. We need #EllasLaw– nobody should lose their home due to a neighbour’s heating choice. Our right to breathe clean air in our own home should be prioritised over a neighbour’s wish to burn.
The biomass garden is soon to be empty of all the pots with flowers that lived here, as we're moving out. It's quite clear the only way to deal with the smokey fumes coming across to ours from the neighbour's biomass flue is to remove ourselves from it. #BiomassProblems#Biomass
Not all wood burning is the same. Modern stoves are cleaner, more efficient & part of a balanced, resilient energy future. It’s time for a fair, fact-based conversation. Read more: charnwood.com/news/modern-wo…
"breathing a LOT of smoke is not good..."
Quote by Charnwood.
Very concerning wood-stove level nuance here. Sorry stokers: BREATHING ANY SMOKE IS NOT GOOD.
These issues are complex - we both know breathing a lot of smoke is not good but there is more to health, wellbeing and sustainability - happy to discuss properly so we can learn from each other.

A whole Lots of excuses for burning wood in a stove but even if 30 days of the year are that cold, they still work, and the rest of the year are efficient
theguardian.com/environment/…
no under -25 they have rely low efficiency and at -30 they have non. so 1kWh or electricity give you 1kWh of heat. at -30c you put in 3000W and you get out 3000W. if your at +10 to -10 they help a LOT! that's where they r perfect.
Modern wood-burning stoves deliver efficient, reliable heat with increasingly cleaner-burn technology and lower emissions. As energy costs rise, households should have more heating choices, not fewer, to keep homes warm, safe and resilient charnwood.com/news/warm-home…
