I started Jim’s with a single lawn mowing round in suburban Melbourne. Today, we have 5,850 franchisees running their own businesses.
Now I’m standing as the Libertarian candidate for Northcote in the Victorian state election.
One of the main reasons is housing affordability.
I believe zoning restrictions are a major reason why houses are so expensive and rents keep rising. We make it far too difficult for people to build homes, particularly in areas close to jobs, shops and public transport.
I believe these restrictions can double the cost of housing.
It’s why I joined the Libertarian Party. I want to see serious zoning reform and less unnecessary government regulation. I’ve been disappointed with the approach taken by both Labor and the Liberals.
I’m also concerned about Victoria’s growing debt and the enormous amounts being spent on projects such as the Suburban Rail Loop. I question whether this is the best use of taxpayers’ money.
I’ve spent decades working with thousands of small business owners. I’ve seen firsthand how government regulations affect businesses, families and the cost of living.
These are some of the issues I want to raise as a candidate.
