We just announced support for RWAs on near.com It's hard to describe how important this unlock is One of the biggest pieces of the vision just fell into place: stocks & ETFs near.com was never meant to be just a crypto app The vision is one confidential, permisionless account for your entire financial life: > Crypto > Stocks > ETFs > Bonds > Perps > Yield Onchain. Permissionless. Confidential by design Where else can you hold and move both traditional and digital assets from a single account without KYC intermediaries, or exposing your entire finances? This is a major step toward making that vision real
Every near.com launch removes one more thing you used to do somewhere else. Today, we're partnering with @Ondo to bring tokenized US stocks and ETFs into near.com, confidentially, with one account 🧵

We gave near.com a proper refresh last week crypto, stocks & ETFs, perps and earn should be easier to scan search, filter, check prices and charts we keep supporting new chains/assets so this should make them easier to find

New design just dropped. We've been rebuilding a lot of the core experience behind the scenes and now it's much easier to explore and trade across categories like RWAs. What’s improved: > Cleaner navigation and portfolio experience > Charts and better trading flows on detail pages > Faster, more intuitive browsing overall > Spotlight search for quick navigation > Dedicated market pages across Crypto, RWAs, Perps and Earn > Better filters and sorting to find what you’re looking for There’s still plenty we want to improve, but it’s coming together
We just launched the reimagined near.com. Crypto, stocks, perps, and yield share one consistent design. Home rolls it all into one total. ⌘K searches everything. Same features. But an amazing new experience. We hope you love using it as much as we loved building it. ❤️

This makes it 2x this man got funds back from hackers What a chad
The funds from the $3.8M NEAR Intents hack were sent back in full. We are stopping the investigation. Please use bug bounties instead of disrupting the services.

many false dichotomies around this you can't reap the benefits of being "early" if you're not willing to stomach the path it requires many new folks don't get how this works, so a rough explanation is in order, as cross-chain stuff often comes up in crypto an imperfect but useful analogy: near intents is to near what hyperunit is to hyperliquid that is, it is not the chain itself, but a cross-chain protocol that augments the chain -- you can think of it as a collection of bridges + some other shit. but it is not part of consensus a cross-chain protocol, for all chains, will always have more trust assumptions than the underlying chain -- unit for example also has OFAC screening as does pretty much anything of this nature (your favorite defi or trading app on any chain also almost certainly fits this and even some validators, with few exceptions) this is almost always true for anything that's not the main chain itself, as most cross-chain protocols are generally secured by MPC networks (or multisigs) and MPC clusters are by definition smaller than core validator clusters and this remains true of all connective tissue, e.g., recall how Arbitrum multisig froze the funds of NK hacker a few months ago that of course did not affect the "moneyness" of Ethereum as that is Arbitrum and not ETH on Ethereum itself same thing here I am not aware of any system that can function much differently on risk parameters today (though I can think of a few who lie about it who get called out by zach every few months) the aspiration of course is that over time MPC networks (or multisig governance in the case of rollups) get decentralized enough to reduce the concentration of influence and minimize it to only provable bug patches and asymptotically zero human judgement that is fundamentally what you are underwriting this is a big reason why Solana seeks to concentrate everything internally on a giant chain so that bridge trust risk is minimized (though in practice, this is only half the picture since for example RWAs fundamentally have control authority with the issuer itself, that's why USDT can be frozen on any chain) so, there are three paths here: i) you transact on the main chain itself with only the native asset of the chain, i.e ZEC on Zcash, BTC on Bitcoin, SOL on Solana this is maximal risk reduction, but obviously limiting for anything beyond SoV or payments ii) you do your bridging via CEXes fine, but very large tradeoffs for asset selection, withdrawal/deposit limits, KYC, accessibility, privacy and you get way worse freezing/trust problems iii) you do your bridging via crypto-native protocols that are relatively less decentralized than an entire blockchain itself but are improving security and decentralization constantly, especially against CEXes for crypto to become a truly planetary economy, iii) must work. this is not a choice, it's just a matter of who wins that segment but the only way iii) can work is if such protocols survive long enough to not get shut down by the feds because then the exchanges will default win and that aspirational future for crypto will be entirely lost a valid criticism here is that this should have already been maximally decentralized already, but ofc that comes with its own tradeoffs like being too slow to patch bugs or add features in a relatively nascent stage again, your job is underwriting the execution risk. and you must do so while understanding the parts at play
Crypto space really has a choice - grow the f up or get sidelined with random regulations. Saying we can not do anything when we are programming decentralized system is just untrue. Banks run AI for fraud detection but are inherently centralized and require KYC. At the same time KYC doesn't solve any of real problems as we know. We have better data and talent to create systems that don't require KYC and actually deter criminals while giving full freedom to real users. By working together we can totally weed out crypto of criminal activity. Criminal TAM is way smaller than all of economy moving onchain we are targeting. Decentralization != disorganization

What if your PnL stays private by default, but you can choose exactly how much to reveal, to whom, and when? Best of both worlds near.com
Inside every crypto user there are two wolves. One wants everyone to know their PnL. That's @fomo. The other wants no one to know they exist; that's what @NEARProtocol is for. Both will win, each by abstracting all of crypto behind a singular interface.

sounds good, send it
interesting in some sense, NEAR could execute what ETH aspired to years ago i.e., it scaled via sharding & is now acting as the hub between many chains perhaps with a few tokenomics changes, you could bring back the programmable money dream monitoring *mute tweet*

fully unlocked, revenue, hypergrowth probably nothing
the importance of NEAR is that it was very heavily venture backed and absorbed hundreds of millions of dollars of unlock sales completely. the VCs are out now. this helps resolve the debate for institutional allocators, "Can anything other than BTC work"

Clean UX, low fees, almost every chain, and confidentiality by default across the entire experience, from swaps and perps to earn Most products get one or two of these right near.com is bringing it all
Recently many people discovered near.com and admitted the clean UX. I welcome you all! The thing that is not noticeable at first sight is the fees. We see all the fees that wallet providers take from users as we’ve built the market leading infra for swaps. For major wallets it’s 70-240 bps only to the provider. near.com is 35 bps right now (for pairs requiring trading), lowest in the market among mid to large sized wallets. This will change as near.com is adopting to the market. But right now you can get the cheapest multi chain wallet experience. With additional unique proposition of keeping your assets confidential. The technology that near.com is built on is called Confidential Intents and it’s available to everyone with no volumetric fees on deposits/withdrawals and no fees on holding assets inside the pool. In other words, it’s basically free, and the place where NEAR earns is swaps. We invite other wallet providers to use it and make assets of their users confidential.

You heard the man, head to near.com get set up in a few seconds and experience it firsthand
So I tried $near intents....UI is fucking CLEAN. You you use your device's biometric data or existing passkey as sign in. Set up is literally in seconds then proceed to do swaps or perps as you normally would. The thing is, people are thinking of $NEAR only as $ZEC beta...and that is indeed one aspect....but the truth is no one actually fucking uses $ZEC and it makes no meaningful revenue. People ARE using $NEAR intents for private swaps/perps bc you can clearly see the near intents chart going parabolic like @Trader_XO posted this morning. Revenue is going parabolic too.
