Onchain leverage means leveraged position is opened by buying the underlying onchain. This requires traders to borrow from DeFi lenders to open leveraged positions.
When demand to take leverage (FED market resolving in <24 hours with popular outcome yielding 112% with 10x leverage), borrowing demand and lending APY goes through the roof.
Amplifi borrowing reached all time high as FED September decision comes in less than 24 hours.
Fed 25bps increase decision is priced at 89c on Polymarket. 10x leverage on Amplifi returns you 112%.
