The WNBA offseason is here, so let's play a game and gauge the public sentiment on the free agent market. Will RFA Awak Kuier's next contract have an average annual value (AAV) of at least $950,000? (Assume the salary cap increases by 13%, from $7.0 million to $7.91 million.)

"So, with lowered shoulders—and activated parasympathetic nervous systems—Nakase’s side bought what their coach was selling and harnessed their competitive advantage: vulnerability." From @clare_brennan2's excellent Valkyries championship story: si.com/wnba/ride-of-valkyrie…

Gabby Williams hit a 31 foot three pointer to put the Valkyries up 3 with 2:18 left. It increased their title chances from 54% to 75%. It was the 10th biggest shot in WNBA history, as measured by impact to championship probability (+21%).

Gabby Williams joined Sheryl Swoopes, Penny Taylor, Breanna Stewart, and A'ja Wilson as the only players to score at least 30 points in a finals clinching win. A sensational performance from the Finals MVP.

THE VALKYRIES ARE CHAMPIONS. Fueled by a Herculean second half by Gabby Williams, Golden State stayed the course and won the first Game 7 in WNBA history. Two years ago, Joe Lacob told Natalie Nakase she had to win a title within five years. Mission accomplished.

A MAJOR win for the @WNBA and USA Network. Game Six of the WNBA Finals averaged 1.5 million viewers across USA Network, E!, and SYFY and Peacock. Fifth most-watched WNBA Finals game on cable on record. The number bumps up to 1.7 million viewers if you include the encore presentations on USA Network and CNBC at 8 p.m. ET. They avoided a disaster rating. A big win.

Hannah Hidalgo: A true demon on the court. “Just to be able to get that stop, it’s that feeling that you just took somebody’s heart away completely,” Hidalgo says. “It’s like a devious feeling, you know?” Go read @CBB_Central's feature on Hannah Hidalgo si.com/college-basketball/ha…

Got to (finally) talk to Angel Reese! Asked her about the speed of her attacks, how she’s reading (the timing of) Golden State’s help, and what goes into her flashes to the elbow

The Dream unleashed a 32-point first quarter and never looked back. Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard were stellar. Now, the first Game 7 in WNBA history is on deck. On Halloween. At Boohalla. Could the series have really played out any other way?
