So creative.
People like James will see a car slowly drive off a cliff, stand by doing nothing, and stop you from doing anything because you are being "mean." Then they will frame themselves as "standing against evil." I don't care if I am seen as "evil." I want a secure future for my nation.

"You reduce crime by eliminating poverty." This is one of the greatest intellectual confusions of our century. It sounds compassionate. It feels obvious. And the moment you actually test it, it falls apart. Let's look at the data. First, the correlation is real. Nobody serious denies that poorer areas have more crime. In Sweden, kids from the poorest 20% of families are about 7 times more likely to be convicted of a violent crime than kids from the richest 20%. But correlation is not causation. So Swedish researchers did something brilliant: they compared siblings. Same parents, same home, same upbringing, but different family income at different points in their childhood, because parents' income moves over time. Result, on more than 500,000 children (Sariaslan et al., British Journal of Psychiatry, 2014): once you account for what's shared inside the family, the effect of income on violent crime goes from 7x to nothing. The hazard ratio drops to 0.95. No effect. Finland ran the same test on 650,000 people. Same result: the income-crime link disappears when you compare siblings. What predicts crime isn't the bank balance. It's what travels inside families. Second test: what happens when poverty spikes for everyone at once? 2008. US unemployment doubled from 5% to nearly 10%. 15% of Americans officially poor. If poverty creates crime, crime should have exploded. Instead it fell. Year after year. Robbery, the most "economic" crime of all, dropped 10% in 2010 alone. Criminologists literally said they were stumped. Same story in the Great Depression: 25% unemployment, and crime went down in many cities. Third test: take families out of poverty and see. The US government ran a randomized lottery called Moving to Opportunity. Thousands of families in public housing got vouchers to move to low-poverty neighborhoods. For boys, violent arrests dropped at first, property crime arrests went up, and over time the effects faded. New zip code. Same behavior. Fourth: the claim that police don't matter. This one is just false. Chalfin et al. (American Economic Review: Insights, 2022): each additional police officer prevents about 0.1 homicides. And per capita, the lives saved are twice as many among Black victims as among white victims. The people who suffer most from "police don't matter" are the poorest neighborhoods. So what does predict crime? The Dunedin study followed 1,000 children from birth to age 32. Self-control measured between ages 3 and 11 predicted adult criminal convictions, even after controlling for social class and IQ (Moffitt et al., PNAS, 2011). Cognitive ability matters too: across 700,000 Swedish men, lower cognitive scores at 18 track with violent convictions, and the link barely moves when you control for childhood socioeconomic status (Frisell et al., 2012). And here's the part nobody quotes: in Dunedin, kids whose self-control improved over time did better than predicted. Behavior can change. Which means responsibility is real. Why does this matter? Because "poverty creates crime" isn't just wrong. It's toxic. It turns criminals into victims. The man who robbed you becomes a symptom of "the system," and you, the real victim, become a footnote in someone else's narrative. It merges two completely different things. "You're poor, we'll help you" is one policy. "You're poor and you committed a crime, so we'll excuse you" is another. Fusing them insults the millions of poor people who work, raise their kids, and never hurt anyone. The vast majority of poor people are not criminals. That alone kills the theory. It removes responsibility. Build a political system on "your circumstances made you do it" and you destroy the one thing that actually changes behavior: the certainty that you own your choices. Every excuse the state manufactures is an incentive. And it feeds the state forever. If every crime is a social failure, every crime justifies a new program, a new budget, a new agency. Crime becomes the business model of bureaucracy. The alternative is simple and old. A lighter state that protects instead of explains. The same rules for everyone, from the projects or from a gated community. Certain, swift punishment for anyone who commits a crime. And never, ever telling someone their crime was written in their social condition. Treating someone as responsible is respecting them. Excusing someone because they're poor is the most condescending thing you can do to them.
You reduce crime by eliminating poverty. The reason so called nice neighborhoods have lower crime rates is because people’s basic needs are being met. It is not because of police, alarm systems, or neighborhood associations. Poverty creates crime.
Community note
Sibling studies show no causal effect of childhood family income on violent crime after accounting for shared family factors. US violent crime declined during the 2008-09 recession despite rising poverty, and more police officers reduce homicides. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25147371/ pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34050646/ fbi.gov/news/stories/2… pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37009208/

In case you were wondering, yes, I absolutely will stand absolutely alone against evil. I'm very grateful I don't have to, though.

Yes, Islam would do more damage than a couple nuclear bombs.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed by a Christian nation. More than 200,000 of your ancestors died. Still, Islam is the problem? 🤡

Liberals will pretend like never in history has there been your typical Liberal who has conservative parents they constantly complain about. No, someone having conservative parents MUST mean they are also conservative.
He was murdered by a white kid from a MAGA family in a MAGA state at a MAGA event. But go on

Joel Berry is obviously the latter.
I’ll generally side with a rude person who is fighting for the good over a well-mannered person who is fighting for evil.

How can he be stupid enough to see this as a win? 🤣

This is one thing I would disagree with the right on. If it is okay to consider racial and genetic factors for determining who gets to enter a country, then why shouldn't the same consideration be done for abortion? Especially if the priorities of a nation trump's "human rights".
Today I was talking to my boyfriend about this and he told me that he would have it, that kids with that condition also deserve to have a chance and be loved… I now think we're going to break up..

I agree, yet the Left is too dumb and ideological to produce the conditions to allow workers to afford such basic necessities. That is why California is the most progressive state, yet also has the second highest poverty rate when you account for costs of living.

Once you stop being conservative, you end up understanding how the right-wing is actually on the side of science and truth. Conservatives are too dumb to understand things, so they make the Lefts insanity seem rational in comparison. Truth has had very little room in America.

Lol, conservative idiots admitting that if the holocaust never happened, which it didn't, then they would agree there was no good reason to fight WW2 against Germany.
Replying to @JemmingKristin
What other reason was there? You people are straight up fucking morons. It’s almost impressive how dumb you are.

This is why you shouldn't take these types of opinions seriously. From either side. Because there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to live with everything good from the past TODAY, yet enjoy the amenities of the present. We have been conditioned to accept a false dichotomy.
I spoke with a woman this weekend who graduated high school in 1944 and is turning 100 in a couple of weeks. I said, "I'm so jealous! I would have loved to be a young woman in the 40s. I love the fashion, the music, the cars, the films..." She smiled and said, "Well, we had a war too, you know." Oh yeah. Minor detail of a world war. 😅

I have no doubt in my mind that Evan doesn't actually exist and is just some guy making money off posting your most stereotypical Leftist takes to make conservatives mad. I almost never see anyone from the Left commenting and agreeing with his takes.
He’s talking about literal Nazis and you’re offended

This is how dishonest Joel Berry is. He intentionally cut off the very last part of the quote: "..., if by decency and propriety of conduct they appear to merit the enjoyment." The founders clearly believed only white people were even capable of this "decency and propriety."
America should welcome immigrants—not only the wealthy, but the oppressed and persecuted from all nations and religions. They all deserve to participate in America’s rights and privileges.

"Immigrants are assimilating!" "Oh, that's really great to hear! So they're not celebrating foreign holidays anymore?" "No" "Are they no longer using welfare in disproportionate numbers?" "No" "Are they venerating our Founding Fathers?" "No" "Do they prefer American cuisine?" "No" "They're no longer benefiting from affirmative action?" "No" "Those that are business owners are trying to hire Americans first?" "No" "They've stopped caring about foreign conflicts that don't directly affect America?" "No" "Are they converting to Christianity/Judaism (which the vast majority of American's identify as)?" "No" "They've haven't set up ethnic enclaves in cities, right? "No" "Are they telling their children not to speak any language other than English outside the home (like past immigrants have)? "No" "Are they no longer sending remittances to relatives thousands of miles away?" "No" "So, they still have significant ties and affections to their home countries?" "......Yes." "Ok, how have they assimilated?" "They're watching football now, BIGOT!!!"
This post nauseates me. Do we want assimilation or not? They are wearing cowboy hats for crying out loud.

Honestly, we need to deport these Indians. They relentlessly show how little respect they have for America and it's people. We can do just fine without H1B workers. There is no other group of people that I've seen Americans being so against. Nobody likes Indians.
This is it. This is where America will no longer be a superpower and will face the biggest downfall in its history. Indian H-1B workers have helped the U.S. economy skyrocket. America’s tech and medical industries rely heavily on Indian workers. Now, America will soon shatter into pieces.
