The irony here is quite remarkable. I was not inclined to respond at all—reciprocal insults are a waste of time—but my earlier statement on the substance appears to have been edifying for some, for which I am grateful. I will simply point back to that previous statement. It clearly explained what I posted and why. That explanation provoked a rather ungracious and persistent series of attacks; now the charge is that I am lacking grace. (Those who actually know me will find that claim amusing—but I digress.) Grace is unmerited favor—receiving what one does not deserve. It is vital. True grace is not a license for carelessness, cowardice, or the refusal to name evil when it threatens one’s nation and the people of God. Given the scale of Tucker Carlson’s reach and the extended pattern of destructive deceit and subversion he has engaged in, exposing and repudiating that conduct is not optional. It is a duty and a biblical command. Those in positions of influence who excuse or cover such evil risk culpability of their own. That observation may be uncomfortable; it remains true. I will extend the suggested grace with a simple invitation: if anyone wishes to defend Tucker’s public conduct on the merits, by all means do so. But citing a past act of personal kindness is not a defense—it’s a deflection.
