Dear world, please synthesize this game: Open world, the player has 2 sliders: Frequency and Bandwidth of their vision. Frequency slider: ------- I presume this would be the center frequency. RF = See through concrete, low spatial resolution Microwave = Sees through clothing, paper, plastic but not metals IR = Heat trails, hidden energy sources, etc Visible = Baseline, medium spatial resolution UV = biological residue X-ray = through thin walls, flesh, blocked by lead/steel, highest spatial resolution γ-ray = through everything except lead/concrete. Grainy. Probably good for finding nukes and nuke contamination. Poor spatial resolution because of diffraction effects start to kick in. Bandwidth slider: ------- Player can widen the band of their vision -> allow more photons -> bright / low-noise and fast refresh. But the trade off, as in real life, would be that materials blend and you can't tell them apart. Wide band for scouting. Narrow band for detailed work, high spectral resolution (not spatial) but lower refresh rate and dimmer light to work with. You can tell materials apart very easily in narrow band. Tools: ------- Tools they can have would be hyperspectral imager of various capabilities as they level up. Various kinds of jammers for specific frequencies, RF transceivers of tremendous variety, emitter sources for shining light on objects, shields and filters to escape from enemy detection, etc. This would be just insane magical experience and simultaneously educational. It'd emulate real physics.

Bang & Olufsen U70 headphones, 1978. Somehow they look more futuristic than most headphones made today.

Ironically, not changing is perhaps the best strategy for staying relevant. Like WD-40, instantly recognizable from any decade.
Consider a box bearing a plain white label with black text, ultra minimal, on a 70s grocery store aisle. It'd stand out instantly. So, I can empathize with minimalists circa 2000 who wanted to escape from such hypervisual noise. By 2015, though, it was fully in vogue to design a plain box with a sans-serif logotype and dust off your hands. In 2026, it seems that visual excess is starting to get popular, but now with AI. My prediction is that in a few years, we're going to return to hyperminimalism as signal of human authorship (even though AI will flawlessly emulate hyperminimalism).

Never paused and thought about the term Datagram as it appears in User Datagram Protocol (UDP). Today, I paused and found it worthy of appreciation.

Old stuff was so cool and names were utter kino. Apparently, POP stands for Post Office Protocol. I can die now.

We need FreeBSD guy vs. Mac dude ads. FreeBSD guy asks "What's a GUI and why is so slow? Oh it animates? Shit just moves around for no reason? Wait...it looks like glass and you can't read anything? And search doesn't work?"

Up next, Microcontroller guy vs. FreeBSD dude: "What's a kernel? You take 2 whole seconds to boot?" ... ... FPGA lord at the end of the chain: "I don't boot. I am." And there is silence forever. Screen fades to black.

Resplendent colors!
THE ITALIAN JOB (1969) Before shooting the Indiana Jones trilogy, cinematographer Douglas Slocombe lensed this visually vibrant and geometrically composed, kinetic caper. He delivered a playful tone with precision craftsmanship.

I want Tesla but with aircraft quality controls, no expense spared. Clunky door handles. No screen but a iPhone charging slot. Real gauge dials for power output, motor rpm, battery voltage, etc. Tufted seats, no fake wood, and visible air vents that I can adjust with hand instantly. Nothing buried in the screen because there is none. Finest buttons and levers machined out of solid aluminum and labels filled with enamel. 100 buttons minimum and at least 20 levers. Happy to pay $30k extra for all this shit.

At some point in my life, I want a workshop, 3 people, cnc mill, cnc lathe, bridgeport, drill press, electronics lab, coding clanker to reverse engineer the bus signals and bring an existing car interior to its maximum potential.
