Geordi La Forge actor LeVar Burton pays tribute to his “Star Trek” co-star Patrick Stewart: “He was family. There is no other context in which to hold him that makes sense. I am lucky to have known and loved so many of the facets of a soul so rich in talent and generous of heart. Of all the Dames and Knights I’ve known he was deep down-the silliest.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/wil…

Oh Hell no. I mean it the way The Rudyard Kipling White Man’s Burden English meant it when they turned over half the World into their servant’s quarters. To be clear as Regency Crystal.

For a second I thought you were calling Ishmael Reed's deeply antiracist novel "Mumbo Jumbo" colonial tripe lol

Brandon Lee was The One. He had it all. His untimely death was not just a tragedy on the human scale of family & friends, but a profound alteration of a Cinematic Universe Never To Be. We lost all those amazing characters too. We lost a Superman, a Black Bolt, A Mister Miracle, A Forge. Countless others. Originals. Him playing his own Dad. 🌹

Brandon Lee was the only Crow in my opinion

When Arnold Schwarzenegger became Governor Of California, I realized that just about A N Y T H I N G can happen In America 🇺🇸. At least once. The Fear & Loathing of a female president is not just about sexism, but that it CAN happen AT ALL. In America. And. It. Will. Despite all the desperate efforts to stop it.
So Reagan was just an actor? What did that make Carter, some South Georgia peanut farmer?

Stretching your analysis (a bit) with those bangs, Spock could arguably be an analogue for the Beatles & the British Invasion.

imo 1960's Capt. Kirk was for a USA remembering the glory days of WWII and Korea; virile, passions barely restrained, now fighting the Cold War - Kennedyesque. Late 1980's Capt. Picard in charge, competent, stable, was for a USA who wished Ronald Reagan was real.

“Mumbo Jumbo” is racist Colonialist tripe. Hogwash, Humbug & Hokum is what they sold the world (as well as human beings)

I'm glad people see this story but (since fraud is my thing) I wonder why there's no interest in the phenomena. It's the Age of Unreason (1994-Present) and the president's a con artist. Oprah's quacks run healthcare. Biden's VP fucked Montel when he pushed a psychic. This is dumb

I ♥️ Watchman . I saw the series as a bold reimagining of the source material more than an adaptation.

I think Allison Janney would make an incredible Starship Enterprise Captain, if they did a next Next Generation.

Trying to imagine what the Star Trek franchise would be like today without Stewart on TNG. He turned that starship around

I acknowledge you with a like, though I disagree. I get where you’re coming from. From my perspective Amanda does some subtle 4th Wall, warped mirror stuff that is subtle, & eerily effective .

She was mostly just being herself though. The acting part was less compelling. Certainly less than Holmes's.

The Crow is the best cinematic adaptation of a graphic novel, with Ghost World a close 2nd (imo).

Wife and me saw "Digger" on Sunday. It was pretty good. Def worth the price of admission. We both gave it 4:5 stars. What's your go-to Halloween flick ? "The Crow" 1 or 2 for us. "Phantom of the Paradise" ranks high too.

💯%. Patrick Stewart brought a magical combination of gravitas without pomposity. That was his superpower. He made Captain Picard palpably believable. Capt. Kirk was a difficult icon to follow. Stewart made the Enterprise his own to command .💫🪐

TNG never would have worked without him, and without that audience, so much else never would have happened, or would have gone unnoticed. Serendipity in pop art that transcended its origins.

❤️‍🩹Make It So💔
SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

You Can See Everything is going to win Best Documentary at The Oscars. Amanda Seyfried a nom, (at least!) for Best Supporting Actress It might also win Best Picture (in an upset) . Something else that’s cray? In its cinematography, it reminds me, in parts, of The Odyssey.
