When Danny Baer asked me if I'd rather leave my family $1 million or 10 Bitcoin, it was an easy choice. I'd take the Bitcoin because I believe it'll be worth a lot more someday.

A stablecoin that pays yield isn’t a dollar. It’s a claim on what produces the yield. T-bills? Money fund. Basis trades, credit, duration? Bond fund with a $1 sticker. Its value: PV of cash flows minus credit risk. Sometimes that rounds to $1. “Stable” assumes it always will.

When a country changes its clocks with a few weeks’ notice, or Morocco pauses daylight saving for Ramadan, someone has to update that file. Since 02005, that someone has been Paul Eggert, a computer science professor at UCLA, who does it as a volunteer.

So I’m in Maryland with some relatives, and I heard a new objection to data centers: “It is such a waste to build these things when they’ll be out of date so quickly. Technology is always changing, so why should we build one of these things now?”

One amazing thing about @meanwhile is how dedicated our policyholders are to what we are doing — consistently asking how they can help and support. I’m not sure there is another long term insurer with a relationship to the people they serve like it.
Life insurance denominated in #Bitcoin may very well be not only the best life insurance product but also the best Bitcoin product.
