Modern game discussions are pulverizing. You can’t go around with a middle opinion anymore. The problem isn’t toxicity that’s always been a part of gaming culture. The issue comes when no one can have a middling opinion without being treated like crap.

We can’t assume the intentions behind why people draw. I’m not claiming they’re wrong for no longer drawing what they used to draw. If they felt as though they were drawing it for the purpose of lust then it’s their right and the people getting mad at are wrong. However that’s not always the motivation for everyone. Unless you truly know someone you can’t ever assume their intentions otherwise you’ll find yourself always wrong. Once again (so you don’t miss the point.) if the intention is to cause lust they yeah it is wrong, whether people agree or not. But if that’s not the intention then don’t jump on people necks if they’re not lust after this stuff then leave them alone. If lust why they are engaging with this material then you should say something. You can’t really tell that through a screen so think long and hard before engaging with them. People are well capable of controlling themselves.

The character has been redesigned for the remake, and the new version looks noticeably different from her original 1998 N64 appearance.

Thanks for the new information and as I suspected the English voice actor for Mao mao is was not affiliated with this. It farther reinforces the possibility that they got add on against their will. That possibility is now a probability, now I’ve seen people say “oh she’s just saying this cause of the backlash!” But I genuinely believe her on this because the evidence to the contrary doesn’t not exist. There for I think she’s telling the truth.
Also the claim that Kawairia lied about certain VAs being part of the fundraiser is 100% false.
Emi Lo did say she wasn't a part of the fundraiser but later clarified that she WAS part of it but asked to be removed after she was advertised under her official role.
