This has well and truly stuck. What she did during COVID is sticking. Helen Whatley is toast come the next general election.
Tory MP Helen Whately is a millionaire on a £98,599/yr salary. Yet taxpayers cover her London second home expenses. Council Tax, water, electric, everything! Meanwhile, she wants to cut benefits for disabled people living on just £7k to £11k a year. Look how much she claims....

You’ll have heard a lot about violence among French protestors. You’ll hear very little about the violence committed by French police against the protesters. And you’ll hear almost nothing about the violence of austerity. This is not a coincidence. graceblakeley.substack.com/p…

This probably hits hard if you failed history in high school. Hitler was a far-Right fascist whose party was named the National Socialist German Workers' Party to attract working-class voters. Then he banned the Social Democratic and Communist parties, and sent socialists and communists to concentration camps.
Hitler was a far left socialist. Literally in the name of his party!

So you dont think you need to speak to Palestinans who have experienced Zionism about how it is to be defined? And you dont see the problem with that? And you dont see a problem with you explaining your failure to engage by saying " I don't know any Palestinians". You don't think as an MP that thats something you should feel embarrassed about and should seek to remedy?
Utter nonsense. Firstly, try watching the interview instead of the dodgy editing, and secondly I don’t need to speak with anyone but Jewish people when deciding whether something may be antisemitism. I hope the EHRC takes my referral seriously.

You might think that founding the NHS would class you as a friend to the British people. But British security services treated Nye Bevan as an enemy. Please remember this next time you are being fed crap by MI5 on your telly. They are not on our side.

Very interesting timing, given Amnesty International just yesterday released a new, extensive report showing how Palestine solidarity and activism is being severely suppressed in universities.

Addressing antisemitism without an equally clear commitment to tackling all forms of racism risks creating a hierarchy of racism — but then the Labour Party would know all about that.
Very important. The National Education Union effectively rejects the key recommendations of the new Independent Antisemitism Review, rejecting the IHRA Definition and suggesting current approaches create a hierarchy of racism. Directly says the report "will not tackle antisemitism." This review looks like yet another Labour Together Project disgrace - the long tail of McSweeney-Starmerism - that will likely inflame rather than reduce tensions in schools. Exasperating, infuriating stuff. Imagine telling teachers - teachers! In it for the kids! - that they can't talk about or show opposition Israel's genocide against Palestinian children. Here's what NEU's Daniel Kebede says: "However, recommending the IHRA definition for schools risks deepening the problem rather than tackling it, and actively undermining efforts to confront antisemitism. It is the wrong approach. The IHRA’s contested framing risks blurring the line between antisemitism and legitimate criticism of the Israeli government and the genocide in Gaza, leaving teachers with uncertainty when they need clarity. A young person’s opposition to the Gaza genocide and scrutiny of the Israeli government are not, in themselves, antisemitic. Young people must have the space to understand and discuss world events. Schools must enable young people to confront difficult issues openly and develop empathy, not drive teachers into silence or leave pupils afraid to express their views. Recommending the IHRA definition risks tightening the chilling grip already stifling classroom discussion of the Gaza genocide. Schools need practical support to confront antisemitism, not a contested framework that risks shutting down legitimate discussion. The very real risk is that children who cannot critically explore issues through classroom discussion will instead seek their answers in online and unsafe groups. “This report will not tackle antisemitism. It wrongly calls into question the professionalism of teachers. The existing rules on impartiality in the classroom are very clear and teachers take that responsibility very seriously. For three years, teachers have been responding to concerned pupils’ questions about this conflict. These classroom discussions are familiar territory, not uncharted ground. In that time there have been vanishingly few examples of the Teacher Regulation Agency holding up a complaint of lack of impartiality in the classroom. "The NEU welcomes a strengthened focus on antisemitism in the statutory safeguarding guidance and we would encourage the Department for Education to go a step further by strengthening the guidance on all forms of racism. We are concerned that addressing antisemitism without an equally clear commitment to tackling all forms of racism risks creating a hierarchy of racism. No form of racism should be minimised, and no pupil or member of staff should receive less protection. Similarly, the NEU welcomes training for staff on recognising and challenging antisemitism, but we would like to see this in the context of wider antiracism training. The lack of training and time for staff development is a real barrier and almost two thirds of teachers (65 per cent) report that they have not received any antiracism training of any kind within the past year."

“If education isn’t the answer, what is?” Antisemitism has no place in our schools and colleges. Sir David Bell’s report sets out what needs to change, informed by the experiences of Jewish communities and those working in education. Read more here ➡️ gov.uk/government/news/gener…

Sainsbury's has posted an annual profit of £1.02bn. It current has 10,000 young people working for free, paid by you. With £1.02bn it could hire 105,905 people aged 18-20 for 16 hours a week all year. Why not MAKE the scumbags hire instead of giving them free workers?

Look at this chart 👇 Many if not most of the children on DLA will go onto PIP. Around half of children who get DLA become NEETs. There’s a clear path from child DLA to PIP to a lifetime on benefits. We must change this.

.@NottsCC is this who we want representing all our diverse communities? Disgraceful comments
Reform UK Councillor Alan Bite of Ashfields, @NottsCC. Friend of @LeeAndersonMP_. In 2024, he suggested Muslim migrants converting to Christianity should be required to eat pork and drink English beer to prove their faith. It's clearly anti-Muslim prejudice. He claims £71 million was handed to “fat cat barristers” representing “illegal migrants”. The facts? The £71 million covered five years of asylum appeal legal aid, not barristers' profits. In 2022–23, asylum appeals accounted for just 0.7% of total legal aid spending. He also demands legal aid be restricted to British citizens with National Insurance numbers, apparently unaware that foreign nationals can have NI numbers too. Just what we need, a bigoted prejudiced councillor who doesn't bother fact checking.
