Tom Brady says his career turned around when a sports psychologist told him to stop complaining about what he wasn’t getting and start stewarding what he had the right way “Greg said to me, ‘Why don’t you quit bitching about all the things you’re not getting, and how about you do the best with whatever opportunities you get?’, ‘Stop worrying about what the other quarterback’s getting. Stop worrying about what the coach is saying to you.’” “‘Every time you get in there, you bring the juice. You bring the energy. You bring the enthusiasm. You treat practice like a game.’ Because if you just decide to go out there and you’re blaming everybody else, where does that get you? So I started to change my attitude.” “I didn’t have a lot of confidence in myself. And when you don’t have a lot of confidence in yourself, you blame other people. When you gain confidence in yourself, you start pointing the finger at yourself.” “I would encourage every athlete to look in the mirror after every day of practice or a game and say, ‘What can I do better to help the team? What can I do better?’” “Not, ‘What does the coach need to do better?’ Not, ‘What do my teammates need to do better?’, ‘What do I need to do better?’ If every player does that, you’re going to have an incredible team.” “You can’t have a false confidence. You don’t only gain your confidence because of your physical ability. You gain your confidence because you’re prepared, because you’re competitive. I couldn’t just show up and be better than everybody.” “I had to show up prepared. I had to show up with energy. I had to show up with my body feeling right. I had to show up like I was on a mission.”

One of the all-time great Rock Hall moments: Dolly’s “Jolene” with Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Pat Benatar, Annie Lennox, Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran), Pink, and Sheryl Crow. Zac Brown Band held it down as the house band. Rest easy, Dolly 🤘

Working with Dolly on “Home Sweet Home” was one of the true highlights of our career. We can still hear her voice saying, “Well, how about that, Dolly and Mötley at #1?” Thank you for the music, the laughter, the kindness and the inspiration, Dolly. Our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fans around the world. With love and respect, Mötley Crüe

Nothing like a little irony here in Iowa. In a game built, in part, around the story of Shoeless Joe Jackson and his second chance after being banned as part of the Black Sox scandal, there are gambling ads in each outfield corner.

It’s not a mystery as to where Mamdani’s city run grocery stores will lead. It’s an economic law not a theory. The government will commit resources to these stores that will hold prices 30% below market price for a short time. The privately owned grocery stores that previously served the neighborhoods will lose market share and, due to already razor thin margins, will go under. The government run stores will deteriorate as all government programs do and soon there will be product shortages etc. the area will be left far worse off than it started. But that’s not what’s interesting here. The real story is that Mamdani and his cohorts are just as aware of this progression as we are. The only debate is; why would they intentionally destroy a system and a neighborhood they promised to protect? I’m not sure the answer but it’s worth mentioning that their hold on power and influence becomes greater the more suffering they cause…that’s probably it..

An obtained letter from Larry Ferazani, General Counsel of the NFL Management Council.   Dear Mr. Sorsby:   We are in receipt of your Petition for Special Eligibility, dated June 16, 2026 (“Petition”).  As announced earlier today, the League has elected not to conduct a Supplemental Draft this year.   Under our Collective Bargaining Agreement, the League retains sole discretion to determine whether it is appropriate to conduct a Supplemental Draft in any given year. The League has not conducted such a draft for several years and, prior to your submission, the League had no plans to do so this year, as no other player has sought entry. Your Petition—filed three business days before the deadline, without any supporting information or documentation, and only after abandoning your recent litigation efforts to avoid NCAA sanctions—does not provide a basis for the League to alter those plans. The issues presented by your Petition are too significant, and too closely tied to the League’s core integrity interests, to permit meaningful review within the timeline presented.   The sole reasons identified in your Petition for seeking entry into the Supplemental Draft are that you have been “declared ineligible” by the NCAA, have “exhausted all of [your] avenues to continue in the NCAA,” and “want to now play in the NFL.” The Petition provides no information regarding the basis for, or timing of, the NCAA’s decision. Public sources, however, indicate that in May 2026 the NCAA issued a determination declaring you permanently ineligible from participation in college athletics, based on a sustained pattern of improper gambling activity during your collegiate career at three different universities.   The League does not have the complete record of the NCAA’s investigation, and you did not provide any such materials with your Petition. Available information nonetheless indicates that, over the course of your collegiate career, you knowingly engaged in repeated and significant violations of NCAA rules designed to preserve the integrity of athletic competition. Reported conduct includes placing wagers on your own team and teammates and, to avoid detection, establishing or funding accounts in the names of intermediaries who placed bets on your behalf. There are also reports that you may have violated state criminal law.   Your Petition does not address these matters. Nor does it demonstrate accountability for your conduct or indicate whether, or how, you would adhere to the League’s rules and policies governing the integrity of competition. Instead, even after receiving notice of the NCAA’s decision rescinding your college eligibility in May, you sought to avoid the consequences of that determination through litigation rather than accepting responsibility for your actions, and you pursued entry into the NFL only after abandoning those efforts.   As Commissioner Goodell has emphasized, participation in the NFL is a privilege that carries with it significant responsibilities, including accountability. By all accounts, you are a talented player with the potential for future success. We encourage you to focus on preparing for possible entry into the NFL through the 2027 NFL Annual Draft.   Sincerely, Lawrence P. Ferazani, Jr.

What about all the entrepreneurs that risked everything and failed ? Or the ones that are grinding it out, trying to build a business ? You know, the ones that create more than 60 pct of the new jobs in this country. The more successful they are, the more you hate them? Take their money so they can't invest in other founders? Or invest in causes they believe in ? And the ones that fail and get to deduct 3k a year of their losses ? Or went for it and are broke and might never see enough income to offset those losses ? You don't care if they go broke ? 10 pct of the people in this country are entrepreneurs that have started a business. You ever try to help them ? There are plenty of discussions to be had about income inequality. About helping people who are struggling economically. I've talked about a lot of them in my timeline. But in reality, saying "Eat the rich" will end up helping no one except maybe politicians trying to raise money. And probably hurt those in need, as more money is spent playing politics then helping Wealth tax. Unearned income tax. Show me the multi year behavioral analysis, as opposed to simple models, that show more jobs, higher wages and personal wealth will be created for those who need it. I'd love to read them Ideology is not a strategy. Nor is it a plan that has lasting impact on people who need help And so you know. I'm not a believer in trickle down. It's a joke. I am a believer in trickle up. Where we do all we can get to get appreciable assets and higher wages into the hands of people who have to live paycheck to paycheck. I've said before I think raising the federal minimum wage to $20 is smart. When I heard people who worked for a company I invested in (but didn't run) needed government assistance, I made sure they all got raises. It was embarrassing to me that we didn't pay enough. I've made, or helped make, at least a thousand millionaires. And I'll keep working to increase that number And that's the point. The best path to help more people is to work with the people that can help more people. If you demonize business people , you just make it harder for them to help anyone. I'm not saying there aren't greedy, blood sucking business people that will do anything for a dollar. But they are a small minority. Most entrepreneurs realize they are blessed. They want to find ways to help. They think they can use the same skills that built their business to help people. And they can. They can hire more. They can give raises. They can educate. And they do all these things to help. I've sat with Democrats and Republicans, incumbents and candidates, and asked them why they aren't meeting with businesses that make and sell the products that have become unaffordable, and asking them what can be done to reduce prices. I do this continuously regarding healthcare. It's easy to see where the friction and increased pricing is coming from. Why (the politicians ) aren't you meeting with them and asking them to change ? Offering to support those that do raise wages, lower prices , improve benefits. Politicians just won't do it. They prefer the donations. I did shark tank for 15 years purely to show people they can start small, grow their businesses, and help not only themselves, but their employees and their communities as well. And thats exactly what has happened. Demonizing those that have success is counterproductive to every benefit you want to help bring to people.
Replying to @mcuban @grok
That leaves so much wealth untaxable, forcing the regular people to pay more in taxes for a system that benefits billionaires. Meanwhile the founders live off loans collateralized on their stock.

I’m going to say the part everybody keeps trying to smother with soft lighting and school-colored spin: This Texas Tech defense of Brendan Sorsby is not noble. It is not brave. It is not some deeply moving stand for second chances. It is a beautifully produced excuse factory with a quarterback depth chart attached. And I’m sorry, but some of us still remember when gambling was the one line sports absolutely, positively did not let you tap dance across. Baseball knew it. Basketball knew it. Football knew it. College athletics knew it. Every athlete who has ever sat through a compliance meeting knows it. You do not bet on games. You certainly do not bet on games connected to your own program. That is not complicated. That is not hidden in fine print. That is not some NCAA mystery written in invisible ink and stored behind a locked filing cabinet in Indianapolis. That is Day One stuff. That is “don’t touch the stove” stuff. That is “the bridge is out” stuff. And now Texas Tech wants everyone to gather around, dab our eyes, admire the production quality, and pretend this is really about compassion? No. Compassion is helping Brendan Sorsby get well. Compassion is making sure he has treatment, accountability, support, and people around him who care more about his soul than his stat line. Compassion is not pretending the rulebook suddenly caught a stomach virus because the quarterback room got uncomfortable. That’s not grace. That’s roster management wearing a halo. And that’s where this whole thing starts smelling like a booster-club candle called “Selective Accountability.” Because let’s be painfully honest. If this were a third-string offensive guard from a school ESPN only mentions during weather delays, there would be no emotional video. No moral campaign. No carefully scripted institutional defense. No dramatic music. No “we stand with our guy” tour. There would be a violation. There would be a consequence. There would be silence. But because it’s a quarterback who can help win games, suddenly the red line needs context, therapy lighting, and a legal team. Nope. Wrong. Try again. Sports cannot survive if gambling violations become public-relations projects. The integrity of the game cannot depend on how many boosters are nervous. Rules cannot only apply to the guys who are not talented enough to become inconvenient. And second chances do not have to include first-team reps. I hope Brendan Sorsby gets help. Truly. I hope he heals. I hope he grows. I hope five years from now this is a painful chapter in a much better story. But he does not need NCAA eligibility to become whole. He does not need a starting job to be supported. He does not need the rest of college football to pretend that a clear line was suddenly blurry just because Texas Tech found a camera crew and a sympathetic script. Sometimes love tells the truth. Sometimes support still says no. Sometimes consequences are not cruelty. And sometimes the most compassionate thing anyone can do is stop treating accountability like it’s a disease we need to cure. You crossed the line. Now the line has to matter. #BrendanSorsby #TexasTech #NCAA #CollegeFootball #SportsBetting #SportsIntegrity #AccountabilityMatters #PersonalResponsibility #CollegeFootballNews #NCAAFootball #CameronDole @espn @TexasTech @TexasTechFB @TechAthletics @Big12Conference
