How it started....... How it's going..... (a work in progress)

The story goes the producer slipped him some whiskey right before he recorded the vocal for Everlasting Love!

Tech billionaires have eroded the American dream. But voters are waking up. So should we in Britain. These trillion dollar companies represent the privatisation of capitalism- and everything from space to AI. We need a strategic response. observer.co.uk/news/columnis…

This song is timeless classic down to Steve’s vocal and that bass!! RIP Steve Ellis

Our hearts and thoughts are with their families, friends and colleagues during this painfully difficult and anxious time.

Remembering the great Baby Huey, who passed away 56 years ago today. Funk and soul singer best known for the posthumous The Living Legend. A raw, powerful voice over heavy grooves that later fed countless samples.

Guaranteed to give you goosebumps: witness the grandeur of the haunting "Lacrimosa" from Mozart’s Requiem, conducted by Claudio Abbado.

The Specials - Gangsters (1979) This and 'Ghost Town' are still my favourites by the legendary Ska/2-Tone group. Terry Hall's lead vocals were recorded in a "bored vocal" and "angry vocal" mixing the two together. Became their first hit single, peaking at #6 in the UK. #Legends

Tommy Robinson stands up in the dock to hear he has been found guilty of harassing journalists. You can see the shame written all over his face…(Well the top bit anyway.)

Absolutely priceless!

Please, whatever you do, don't share this photograph of Obama receiving his Nobel.

This is not only racist, it is wrong

Three down. Three left. The people have spoken. We have had enough of the chaos, the hatred, the corruption, and the authoritarian idiots who think the world belongs to them. Orbán, Bolsonaro and Vučić have all been rejected by voters. Today, Netanyahu could be next. And Trump looks increasingly likely to earn his own big red cross in the midterms. That leaves Putin. The rest of us must make sure Moscow gets its red cross too, by giving Ukraine everything it needs to defeat Russia’s imperial ambitions. The age of «strongmen» is looking a little less strong. And that is a beautiful thing. Remember when you could wake up in the morning without wondering which country was being threatened, which ally had been insulted, or which international crisis had been manufactured overnight by a man with an oversized ego? When politics was often boring, diplomacy happened behind closed doors, and world leaders generally tried to solve problems instead of creating three new ones before breakfast? It wasn’t a perfect world. Far from it. But there was a certain peace in not having to listen to angry old men demanding the world’s attention every single day. Imagine getting that peace back. Imagine a world where the morning news is about progress, discoveries and possibilities, rather than the latest threats, lies and tantrums. We deserve that world again.

Oooh! A gorgeous Flameback

“If you’re not angry, you’re not listening” 🔥🔥🔥

I think that this sort of statement, from a U.K. university @uniofleicester is unprecedented.

Simon Heffer, not exactly a pinko liberal leftie, reviews the new Liz Truss book, and it should be framed in every loo in the land.
