Hot take (that will make everyone fight): If you are young and ambitious, you are better off being in ANY city in America vs 99% of Europe. Sure London beats Columbus Ohio. But outside of like 4 cities in Europe, any mid sized city in the USA has a better chance of making you rich

🚨: Nobel Prize physicist Roger Penrose claims there is no such thing as nothingness. Your soul is eternal because matter cannot be destroyed.
Community note
Roger Penrose proposed conformal cyclic cosmology in which the universe consists of successive aeons without an absolute beginning, but he has never claimed there is no such thing as nothingness or that souls are eternal because matter cannot be destroyed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conformal… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Pen… newscientist.com/article/239165… bigthink.com/starts-with-a-…

all we have to do is NOT DIE in the next 18 months check this: > obesity- retatrutide goes to the FDA in Q1 2027 > gene editing- first in vivo CRISPR therapy, FDA decision March 10, 2027 > cancer screening- first multi-cancer blood test, panel-backed, awaits FDA > organs- gene-edited pig kidneys already in FDA-cleared trials > Huntington's- first gene therapy, FDA decision as early as spring 2027 > rare disease- "first-ever" gene therapy approvals keep stacking up > drug development- ARPA-H aims to cut 10+ years to under 4 > autoimmune- Novartis bet up to $7.8B on mRNA that makes your body build the drug > AI biology- first dataset for modeling cells in about a year > antibodies- four rival pharmas pooling data, first dataset early 2027 > AI biotech- Iambic heading to Nasdaq with an AI-designed cancer drug in humans the brightest decade humanity has ever witnessed is knocking bio/acc

no. the biggest problem is that everything is priced in and the best investment ideas are not yet liquid. whoever solves that will be a billionaire
Over the last 5 years, I've used every social investing product -- but they all tend to fail in one key spot: Closing the gap between (a) your belief about the world and (b) how to express that belief with stocks. Mike reached out early in the summer and showed me @Supertake, which solves this problem in the most fun way possible: prompt with AI and it constructs a portfolio around your belief. With the declining cost of intelligence, we're going to see much more sophisticated investing styles emerge that was previously reserved only for hedge funds.

falling asleep on planes is a feminine trait what do you mean your brain allows you to let your guard down 35,000 feet above the ground in a compressed tin can with no way out if you feel ‘sleepy’ in this situation then you do not have true warrior blood it’s not time to sleep, we are VERY far from base camp and MUST stay alert

Should be noted that this is drip coffee. Coffee filtered through paper is not the same as espresso. Espresso retains cafestol, which is a potent dietary compound that down regulates LDL receptors and CYP7A1 enzyme which breaks down cholesterol. Don’t chug lattes thinking it’s the same as coffee
People who drank more coffee had less body fat, less visceral fat, and more lean mass than less-frequent or non-drinkers. The biggest benefit was seen at 5 or more cups per day. And for men, every extra cup per day was associated with a ~10 ng/dL higher total testosterone. Higher coffee intake was also associated with better glucose and insulin regulation in men. This was an observational study, but mechanistic and experimental evidence actually supports coffee's benefits on metabolic and hormonal health. I'm willing to believe there's a real link here rather than draw a conclusion such as "coffee drinkers live healthier lives in general."

How does opus 5.5 have so much usage? Every serious developer is currently running Opus 5.5 24/7 Anthropics servers should be melting but instead Claude is giving out hundreds of dollars in free credits. GTP-6 Astra put so much strain on the OpenAI servers that they shut down the $200 subscription. Anthropic should be in the same position as OpenAI but clearly they have had a technological breakthrough.

Opus 5.5 designing LEGO 👀 I asked it to design a Microduck I can build with real LEGO pieces. It: > designed it life-size using 1113 real LEGO parts > verified: 3,204 connections, 0 collisions, every step buildable, centre of mass inside the feet 🤯 > made a 141-page LEGO-style booklet (237 steps) > priced every piece in the browser and prepared the orders on BrickLink

wow
Claude has discovered a previously unknown enzyme system hidden in the DNA of bacteriophages. Beside the enzyme’s gene sits a long array of repeating DNA—a structure that looks somewhat similar to CRISPR. We don’t yet understand what this system does, but only a handful of known systems share its features, and all of them are able to cut, copy, and paste DNA. Historically, the discovery of such programmable systems has helped revolutionize medicine. CRISPR, for instance, is now the foundation of genetic medicines. But it will take much more work to learn what this system does, and whether it can be put to similar use. Read more: anthropic.com/news/claude-di…

ADHD is closely linked to a delayed body clock. Early evidence suggests correcting this delay can also improve ADHD symptoms.
Up to 78 percent of people with ADHD have a body clock that runs late, and moving that clock earlier has been linked to fewer ADHD symptoms. A 2025 paper by two Canadian doctors pulled the evidence together and laid out a treatment plan. Melatonin, the hormone that tells your body it's time to sleep, starts rising about 45 minutes later at night in children with ADHD and about 90 minutes later in adults. Brandon Luu of Queen's University and Nicholas Fabiano of the University of Ottawa gathered this research in Frontiers in Psychiatry. Sleep problems affect up to 80 percent of adults with ADHD and up to 82 percent of children. People with ADHD also tend to have a flatter, later daily cortisol rhythm, and some studies have found a smaller pineal gland, the tiny gland deep in the brain that makes melatonin. Their body clock genes show weaker daily swings too. Melatonin and bright light therapy have both moved the body clock earlier in children and adults with ADHD. Early studies link that shift to fewer ADHD symptoms, and sleep programs for children have improved symptoms, sleep, and daily functioning. Screening every ADHD patient for sleep and body clock problems is the first step in the plan the authors propose. After that come a fixed wake-up time, bright light in the morning, less light and screen time at night, regular daily routines, and low-dose melatonin for people whose clock is clearly running late. The paper is a perspective piece that summarizes earlier research, and much of the treatment evidence is still early. For the large group of people with ADHD whose clocks run late, the first steps it recommends are about light, timing, and routine. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4145…
