End of an era, Tim Apple will be missed
Sending lots of love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. My gratitude is endless, and I’m excited for the next chapter!

it’s giving 1980s Microsoft vs Apple
We’re ending our partnership with Cursor following its acquisition by SpaceX. Under our proposal, Cursor’s direct access to our models would end on November 12. We know that the people most affected by this decision are the developers who rely on OpenAI models in Cursor. We care about their experience in this transition and we’re ready to go above and beyond to support them. openai.com/index/our-decisio…

tldr: global token allocation that accounts for relevance across documents > per document, parallel selection
We’re releasing a research preview of “dynamic highlights”: Given a query and set of pages, a custom model jointly scans the whole set to filter out redundant and irrelevant info, reducing token usage 95% on average. Available today: exa.ai/blog/dynamic-highligh…

went to the Bryan Johnson event last night and these were my sleep and nutrition scores after
super fun! some takeaways from @bryan_johnson hang: - Bryan is trying to change the norms around valuing life - valuing life should be a unifying (aligning?) belief for humanity - show kindness to haters - get the data to make better tradeoff decisions about your health - if you can focus on one thing, it’s getting RHR down - don’t accept defeat with disease incredibly like-able, mission driven religious leader teaching us to value consciousness with a sense of humor, curiosity and showmanship. also, build great things with AI!(thanks @baseten)

When I went to my first U.S. Open in 2016 the grounds pass was $35, say what you will about the Wimbledon queue but at least they have fair pricing for everyone
The U.S. Open is owned by the USTA which is a non-profit. The idea that a day one ground pass is $363 is absurd. The USTA’s mission is to promote the sport of tennis. How is a $363 ground pass consistent with this mission?
Community note
The $363 Day 1 grounds pass price is from Ticketmaster's resale market; the USTA's official face value is $65. cbsnews.com/newyork/news/n… thebiglead.com/us-open-drawin…

Saw the community note about the face value being $65, I’ve been to the box office almost every year since 2017 and have never gotten a “face value” grounds pass since post-COVID for less than $120 from the official box office…

i remember back in the summer of 2017 people had bots to secure court reservations in nyc at pretty much every court you could reserve in manhattan, your best shot at getting a court on a given day was waiting in a long line on the WSH or by going to the Bronx
the sf tennis reservation system will become one of the most hardened softwares on the planet of earth
