Did you know that reducing heat-trapping gas emissions doesn't just slow climate change: it also improves our health; saves food, water, and money; and keeps us safer? Climate solutions aren't a necessary evil: they're a 'no regrets' strategy for a better world.

You can't just criticize the Admin in power (Democrat or Republican) only when it's heading toward a nadir. Speak truth to power, cultivate non-partisanship, call balls & strikes, maintain your objectivity/credibility even in the face of retaliatory & thin-skinned bureaucrats.

The midterms are over & GOP got wiped, so now we'll see folks come out of the woodwork with a newfound set of balls. After Trump's 2024 victory, a lot of NatSec folks began self-censoring; others sought to curry favor with the Administration. I kept receipts & I see you, cowards.

Interesting reminder from @AdamKinzinger 's substack today: Musk’s SpaceX has won more than $8 billion in Pentagon contracts this year alone. With that much money coming from the American people, we deserve to know why #Ukraine had service disruptions of #Starshield last month. "We still don't have answer from Pentagon or SpaceX on what has happened," Ukraine's Charge d'Affairs in the US @DenysSienik told me and a group of reporters today. "[The] good news is that it has been resolved, and our military can further do their work in order to protect their lives," he added. Members of Congress are preparing to investigate why the disruptions occured. "There are friends in both parties who really care of what is going on in Ukraine and with regard to the Ukrainian assistance. And we are, and me personally sincerely grateful to them," Sienik added.

One whistleblower’s courage helped stop a Trump administration scheme that could have disenfranchised millions of mail-in voters in the midterms. After Tuesday’s elections, we’re especially grateful to the anonymous federal worker whose bravery helped safeguard our voting rights and ensure that tens of millions of Americans could successfully receive and return their ballots by mail. Our democracy is stronger because they spoke up—and we are proud to have supported their tremendous act of courage.

Dozens of members of the public — architects, veterans, even a retired general — have urged the commission not to move forward with Trump’s arch. This was particularly scathing testimony from Susan Douglas, an activist who joined virtually from a protest at the planned site.

Replying to @SenatorRounds
@SenatorRounds Expansive urban green space with multiple use cases is something worth keeping. East Potomac Park is a jewel in our nation’s capital for countless cyclists, runners, birders, and fishermen. There is no reason to let the President take this place. Please.
With regard to national developments, Rounds says he "was surprised at the depth of the losses by my colleagues." He tells me "we're also going to have to take a second look at some of the executive branch decisions that have been made." He elaborates on that here:

JUST IN: The groups suing to save East Potomac Golf Course asked a federal judge today to block the National Park Service from closing East Potomac Park on Nov. 15. They’re asking Judge Ana Reyes for a 14-day restraining order. The government says a crumbling seawall makes closing the park necessary for safety. The plaintiffs call that a pretext. Their filing points to: -President Trump posting twice that the course would close Nov. 15 “in order to renovate and rebuild” -More than 30,000 Marine Corps Marathon runners circling the park on Oct. 25, three days before the safety closure was announced -NPS rebuilding the Tidal Basin and West Potomac seawalls without closing those parks A hearing is already set for Nov. 13.

The D.C. Preservation League and two golfers are asking for a restraining order to stop the Nov. 15 closure of East Potomac Park by NPS. They say the claim that the aging seawall is dangerous is a pretext for Trump's plan to re-do the golf course and get rid of other uses.
