📊RESULT// Bishop Auckland 3-1 Newcastle Benfield
The hosts went ahead through a Lee Hume goal on 16 minutes, the midfielder's low shot crossing the line despite the best effort of visiting keeper James Hughes.
Gary Martin went close to adding a second for Bishops but he shot wide following a corner.
The visitors would head into the break all square after Michael Annang-Colquhoun levelled on 38 minutes - two in two for the fleet footed forward as he prodded home from a Lewis Orrell free kick..
Bishops began the second half on the front foot, Martin once again testing Hughes shortly after the restart.
The hosts probed but created a series of half chances. And that set the tone for the rest of the games, Bishops pushing forward and the visitors defending resolutely.
However Benfield’s resolve was broken when two home substitutes combined with five minutes left to play to give the hosts the lead. Liam Jarvie stood up a cross to the beach post where Craig Moody headed in.
The Two Blues made sure of the three points when Amar Purewal added a third five minutes into added time.
Bishops climbed to 2nd place on the back of a first home victory of the season.
Benfield finished the day in 16th place - having played a game less than most.
🔮PREDICTION// We had the hosts winning this 2-1 so we are slightly annoyed that Bishops scuppered us with a total unnecessary third. Thanks Amar.

@Blyth_TownFC v
@CarlisleCityFC
📊RESULT// Blyth Town 1-1 Carlisle City
Table topping Town took the lead with six minutes played, Ben Franklin netting his third goal of the season with a wonderful curled strike for 1-0.
Blyth’s Liam Noble then saw Aaron Taylor turn away his free kick as the hosts looked for a second.
Franklin went close again for the home sides while Adam Gordon had a pot shot for City but the half ended with no further addition to the 1-0 scoreline.
Jordan Irving was denied by a fine stop from Neil De Jesus in the Town net before Keighran Kerr fired well over as the City looked for a path back into the game.
Then just after the hour the visitors were back level, Rob McCartney’s second goal of the season brought City all square, 1-1.
That was the first league goal of the season that Blyth have conceded - they had gone 331 minutes without letting in a goal.
McCartney nearly snatched a late winner but his header just cleared the crossbar.
Blyth dropped their first points of the season but still remained top of Division One.
City showed a resilience not seen since opening day to pick up their first away point of the campaign. They are in 12th place.
🔮PREDICTION// We had the hosts down to win 3-0 so we can safely say we got this one wrong. It happens. We are fine, really.

📊RESULT// Kendal Town 1-0 Newton Aycliffe
The game’s opening forays were stop-start with fouls and free kicks punctuating a bitty start.
Aycliffe were reduced to ten men on 20 minutes as Jordan Lavery picked up his second yellow card.
The hosts’ best effort of the half came via the boot of Harry Pilkington but the midfielder's crisp effort bounced back off the woodwork.
Goalless at the half.
Skipper Bailey Kenny saw his back post header easily claimed by Tom Shanley in the visitors net as the second half got underway but chances remained at a premium for the Mintcakes in the face of resolute defending from Aycliffe.
The deadlock was broken just before the hour mark, DJ Taylor with a low cross and Jack Millburn was there to prod home in a crowded box.
The goal gave the hosts a spark, Joe Wilkinson and then Taylor had efforts but Shanley comfortably dealt with both.
Aycliffe ratted the woodwork as the game entered the final twenty minutes as the nerves started to build for the hosts.
Matty Clarke nearly settled those growing nerves but his shot was parried away by Shanley.
But it ended 1-0 to the Mintcakes.
A first win of the season for Kendal sees them climb up to 10th.
Aycliffe’s winless run reached four games as they sit bottom of the embryonic NL1 table.
🔮PREDICTION// We predicted a 1-1 draw in this one. And without the red card who knows? But the sending off did happen and our call was an Aycliffe goal away. Pfft.

📊RESULT// North Shields 3-1 Shildon
The Robins went ahead on 14 minutes, Dan Wilson rising to head home a looping free kick to power home the opener.
Lewis Suddick doubled the hosts lead on 24 minutes as he slotted home after Andrew Jennison had saved a Stephen Hall header.
The best opportunity the visitors could muster was a Tom Price effort but he dragged his left foot shot wide.
Shields two up at the break.
Shildon started the second half on the front foot with Jon Weirs testing home stopper Callum Elliot.
The visitors pulled a goal back on 53 minutes, Ben Reay with his first of the campaign.
Shildon then threw the proverbially sink at the Shields goal. Reay again went close before a Joe Posthill headed flew just wide. Alfie Steel then broke through but once again Elliott was the equal of the visitors' effort.
The Robins sealed it when Nelson Ogbewe claimed his fourth goal of the season deep into added time to make it 3-1.
Shields up to 4th as they won on their first home outing of the season.
Stuttering Shildon are in 15th place as they gel together a new look front line. A second league loss already for a side that lost only four times in league action all of last campaign.
🔮PREDICTION// We had Shildon taking a 2-1 win in this one. And the Robins punished a transitional Railwaymen side. And also made our prediction a little foolish. Ah well.

@NorthallertonFC v
@ThornabyFC_
📊RESULT// Northallerton Town 3-2 Thornaby
Ally scored inside the first twenty seconds. A ball played forward was collected by Harry Healy and former Billingham Synthonia striker slotted past Sam Taylor for 1-0.
On 21 minutes it was two for the hosts. A Dale Hopson free kick was met by recent acquisition Norton Tomlinson to head home.
Thornaby pulled a goal back from the penalty spot on the half hour. Spencer Walker sweeping home from twelve yards after Aaron Bell had been fouled.
Walker then drilled an effort off the post as the Blue Lamps looked to get back on level terms.
Ally ahead 2-1 at the break.
The visitors showed their intentions as they rattled the woodwork again early into the second half
The Lamps equalised on 68 minutes. Lucas Casson fired home to make it 2-2.
Ally edged back in front on 77 minutes, and through a former Thornaby man, Dale Hopson slotted home what proved to be the winner from a Jack Stapley centre.
Town claimed a first win of the season as they moved into 13th place.
Thornaby lost on their first away league outing, they sit in 9th place.
🔮PREDICTION// We had Thornaby win this 3-1. Way off it turns out. The in-form Lamps turned over by a competitive Ally side - who showed resilience that wasn't there all too often last season.

@WhitleyBayFC v
@HordenCWFC
📊RESULT// Whitley Bay 0-1 Horden CW
The game's first presentable chance fell to Horden’s Phill Angus but he blasted high and wide.
The hosts had a glorious opportunity but Luca Shilling scuffed his effort after a Mikel Thomspon cut back.
Horden then rattled the crossbar, Kyle Davis’ dipping effort bouncing to safety with Preston Leech beaten in the home goal. Davis then curled one just past the post as the visitors enjoyed a good spell.
Goalless at the break.
The Marras needed just six second half minutes to take the lead, Philly Angus rounded off a counter with a low drilled effort that nestled in the bottom corner.
Ben Henderson almost extended the visitors lead but his low strike came back off the upright on the hour. The home woodwork was tested once more shortly after, a Davis header on this occasion.
The visitors saw sub Kyle Middleton dismissed on 80 minutes but the closest the hosts came to rescuing a point was a George Brady header from a corner which cleared the Horden crossbar as the Marras stood firm to claim all three points.
Bay are in 11th place after a second failure to win at Hillheads.
Horden are still unbeaten and climbed to 7th place as they won on the road at the first time of asking.
🔮PREDICTION// Seahorses 1-0 Marras. Well we got the right scoreline but the wrong winner! The shot shy Seahorses virtually scuppered any chance we had, and then Angus ended hopes.

@YarmEaglescliff v
@penrith_afc
📊RESULT// Yarm & Eaglescliffe 1-3 Penrith
The game started in end to end fashion but the first effort in anger came via the boot of Tom Atkinson, but his shot was well saved by Penrith stopper Lewis Boyd.
The hosts next effort was an Atkinson header as the Eagles pushed for the opener.
Despite early home pressure it was the visitors that claimed the first goal of the evening - and their first goal of the season. Jordan Palmer converted an 11th minute penalty despite home keeper Matty Calvert’s strong hand.
Steven Roberts saw his crisp effort saved by Boyd but the visitors took a one goal lead into the break.
Y&E were back on level terms on 51 mins, Roberts with his third goal of the season to make it 1-1.
Parity was short-lived though as Palmer restored Penrith’s lead inside a minute as he claimed his second of the evening.
The Eagles responded with Dan Jones, Tom Atkinson and Mikey Roberts - on his debut - all going close but it was the visitors that grabbed the next goal, and with another penalty.
Palmer swept home the 84th minute spotkick to complete his hat trick, 3-1.
The hosts ended the game down to ten as Harry Stewart-Titchner was sent to the sin-bin.
And even the Eagles' occasional miraculous powers of recovery couldn’t save them on this occasion.
Y&E lost for the first time this season in league action - and indeed for the first time in 2026. They are in 8th place after a first defeat in 222 days.
Previously pointless Penrith claimed a first win - and first goals - of the new campaign. The three points sees them up to 18th place.
🔮PREDICTION// We had the hosts down to win 3-1. Obviously a mix up in the crystal ball as our predicted scoreline was correct but not the winners. We’ll give it and ourselves a little shake.
