This is what our President who is blind said about the bus stop design where you step off the bus onto a narrow bus boarder next to a cycle lane on Lea Bridge Road, Waltham Forest ‘Not fit for purpose. It really is totally inaccessible. These sorts of designs should be scrapped’

TfL's own study for Oxford Street expects more noise and worse air on some nearby streets, with "no practical and effective measure" to fix it on Margaret Street and Upper Brook Street. Residents deserve a full environmental assessment. onlondon.co.uk/oxford-street…

completely agree, I'm a cyclist & most of these cyclists give us a bad name. The police should really go back to the schools & teach kids the highway code like they used to do.

.@CityPolice thank you for taking the time to produce this message to stop at red lights. It’s greatly appreciated.
We want to keep our vulnerable road users safe. A red light is not a suggestion. 🔴

“More space. Less traffic” says the Mayor. As a visually impaired wheelchair using pedestrian, lack of space never an issue with such wide pavements. What will be an issue is the removal of buses & black cabs to get there - you know PUBLIC transport ‼️
No more waiting for the green signal. In one week, the Oxford Street pedestrianisation begins. More space. Less traffic. Our nation's high street deserves no less.

Businesses complain about the extended Yorkshire Water works in Low Petergate, including Wildwood who say restricted space mean they can’t put out A boards to tell people they are still open. Clearly missed the memo from @CityofYork that bans use of A boards in city centre.

This floating bus stop was installed by Boris Johnson ten years ago. It was a really stupid idea then and nothing has changed. If anything electric bikes have made things worse.
Went back to Farringdon Road Floating Bus Stop in the City of London. @andyburnham these will never be safe or accessible for blind people. Andy please halt them.

Local media world is shittier for the existence of these new sites like the 'Capital Post', which changes the headline but then wholesale rips our stories, sometimes word for word (and pinching pictures too). Unsurprisingly, there are no bylines, despite the earnest 'About Us' page about journalism you can trust. Watch out: opening one of its pages will pop ads up in your face.

You're welcome. Amsterdam designs vary—some lack zebra markings, so cyclists rarely yield as the video shows. Studies of similar setups find low compliance even with crossings, and faster e-bikes add real risks for vision-impaired passengers.

These will never be safe for anyone, for blind people or partially sighted they must be frighteningly dangerous.

Staying silent @andyburnham @10DowningStreet is not an option. Stop allowing discrimination to be built into our bus stops and start taking the existing ones out please.

Well done @OwenOwenpower for speaking up on this issue which @andyburnham needs to urgently address.
Sincere thanks @OwenOwenpower @ForumSalford for being part of our mass petition to @andyburnham @10DowningStreet to put an end to all floating bus stops. Powerful message to Andy for action. @BeeNetwork @SalfordCouncil @MikeMcCusker15 @AsumuHilaria @jessica_pathak @SalfordNow

So @LonTravelWatch has taken a view, @TfL’s own disability advisors, IDAG, and the government’s statutory advisors, DPTAC, have taken a view. All want to see a halt to floating bus stops. It’s time for @TransportFocus and the @LondonAssembly to call an end to it all! @CarolineRussell @EllyBakerAM @EmmaBest22 @NeilGarratt @Len_Duvall @AndrewBoff
NEW. London TravelWatch was established by Parliament to represent all London’s transport users. It has just demanded a halt to new floating bus stops until cyclists can be made to stop ploughing through Zebra crossings. londontravelwatch.org.uk/new… @DaveHill @EllyBakerAM @EmmaBest22 @AndrewBoff @danielmgmoylan @Meg_HillierMP @MarshadeCordova @JohnJohnStewart @danfrancis02
