Technology Guy & Unintentional Smartass, DevRel @Applitools. Long-time enterprise and game dev, working on whatever I feel like and making sure it...works.
New thought for training: All junior devs (the ones the VC's/AI people allow to survive) should be required to spend 6 months on (supervised) sysadmin duty.
Might not fix anything about how they write code, but it'll FOR SURE fix how they think about publishing things.
I know we're -supposed- to build game mechanics in a way that makes it just easy enough for people to win so they keep coming back.
Unfortunately, I am me and @ThatNgonGuy is @ThatNgonGuy, so we're making things annoyingly difficult when we feel like it.
Good luck, chums.
OH you want to know what I'm doing this weekend? @ThatNgonGuy and I are busy doing space trucker things.
We're also wishing we knew how to animate skelmeshes a bit...but we'll get there.
"Tests passed, but the UI is broken." Sound familiar? 😅
Give AI coding agents "eyes" to self-correct layout bugs and validate builds against your #Figma designs.

Found out I need to vary my takeout orders more.
I have a local Chinese shop I'll order from so I don't forget to eat.
Went in last night and not only did they recognize me and call me by my address, they brought out my order unprompted.
But hey, building a lot of software!
Starting to think I talk to myself a lot when I'm alone at home.
Voice is messed up atm so I'm actively avoiding talking, and it occurs to me my apartment is VERY quiet?
Next time I go to the doctor I'm certain I'll be told my blood pressure is too high.
When asked why, I will just say the phrase "You're right, and it's the cleanest option of all."
Me & @ThatNgonGuy to newbs: "Don't worry about optimizing too early, you can do that later on in the process."
Me & @ThatNgonGuy to each other: "Bro what do you mean it isn't instanced? And it has HOW many faces??? What are we even DOING?! This isn't ready for alpha, damn it."
