This is big. The benchmarking game of agents, skills, models, and combinations of all of them has been a fun topic to follow. Not so many companies share real-life figures, though. Kudos to Netflix! They did a great job experimenting and measuring the effect of the code intelligence tools on the agents. I wish we could see more studies like this from other big companies, too. From the article: "Typically 20–30% more efficient (fewer tokens, less time), and up to about 65% in the best case" So yeah, it's useful to teach the new dogs (agents) old tricks (IDE tooling) for better efficiency. blog.jetbrains.com/ai/2026/1…

How do you evolve a language used by millions of developers without breaking the web? That's TC39's job – the committee that designs and evolves JavaScript. We sat down with TC39 committee members during their 114th meeting, hosted at JetBrains' office in Amsterdam, to talk proposals, breaking changes, and what it takes to write a spec that has to work everywhere. This is just a teaser – full interviews coming soon. Watch: piped.video/watch?v=uao0Yu31…

WebStorm 2026.2 is out! Large TypeScript codebase? This release has your back. TS 7 ships out of the box, no migration needed. We tested it on Kibana, and project load time went from ~12s to ~3s. What’s more, GitHub Copilot is now natively integrated (no plugin setup required), and the new agent skills manager lets your AI agents carry knowledge of your stack across every project and session. Check out the new version to discover all the updates: jb.gg/vz7c4w

Would you be interested if JetBrains releases a totally local AI agent, working 100% on your laptop, using our code insight engine and deeply integrated into the IDE? Yes, it will be probably 1 month behind the very recent frontier models, but no token blood bath anymore WDYT?

RFK Jr: "A Democratic senator claimed it's mathematically impossible to have a drug drop by 600%. I said, 'Well, if the drug was $100 and it raises to $600, that would be a 600% rise. If it drops from $600 to $100, that's a 600% savings.'" Trump: "Right"
Community note
RFK Jr.'s example misstates percentage changes. From $100 to $600 is a 500% increase ((600-100)/100 × 100). From $600 to $100 is an 83.3% decrease ((100-600)/600 × 100). A 600% decrease from $600 would reach a negative price. newsweek.com/rfk-jr-trump-d… cnn.com/2025/09/23/pol… calculatorsoup.com/calculators/al…

Zamknięcie toru w Poznaniu to jeden z największych skandali infrastrukturalnych w Polsce. Panie ministrze @KubaRutnicki - prośba o pilną interwencję w tej sprawie. W imieniu wszystkich kierowców. Obiekt wybudowany prawie 50 lat temu. Jedyny w naszym kraju z homologacją FIA (!). To osiedla powstały obok toru. Mieszkańcy kupowali mieszkania, doskonale wiedząc, gdzie się wprowadzają. Tor pełni funkcję bezpieczeństwa publicznego. Szkolili się tam kierowcy, firmy, służby, instruktorzy jazdy. Zamknięcie go oznacza przeniesienie „emocji” na drogi publiczne. Tor w Poznaniu to coś więcej. Obwodnice i linie kolejowe - do zamknięcia. To decyzja krótkowzroczna i szkodliwa.

JUST IN: You do not fire your Army Chief of Staff in the middle of a war for no reason. You fire him because of what comes next. Pete Hegseth called General Randy George on April 2 and told him to retire immediately. The Pentagon confirmed it within hours. No reason was given. Not publicly. Not privately. A senior Army official told Fox News that Hegseth offered George nothing: no misconduct, no operational failure, no policy disagreement on the record. Just a phone call and a career ending in the middle of the most significant American combat operation in two decades. George is the 24th general or admiral Hegseth has removed. But he is not the 24th. He is the one that matters. The Army Chief of Staff. The man whose signature sits between a president’s intent and the order that sends soldiers across a beach or into a tunnel complex. The 82nd Airborne is deploying right now. Marines from the 31st MEU are staged on the USS Tripoli. JSOC operators are at forward bases in Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Kharg Island, 90 percent of Iranian oil exports, sits 16 kilometres off a coast that someone will have to decide whether to approach. And the four-star general whose job it was to advise whether that approach should happen was removed 48 hours after Trump told the nation the war would continue for two to three more weeks. The replacement is Vice Chief General Christopher LaNeve. He was Hegseth’s senior military aide before this appointment. The man who carried the Secretary’s briefcase now commands the Army the Secretary is reshaping. The chain of command did not break. It shortened. The distance between a television studio and a combat order just collapsed to zero intermediaries who were not personally selected by the man giving the order. No reason was given. That is the tell. When someone is removed without explanation during a crisis, the explanation is the crisis itself. George either objected to something or was about to. The ground option. The power plant strikes. The Kharg raid. The escalation that turned a highway bridge in Karaj into rubble on the same day he was told to leave. Something in the next two weeks requires a chief who will not push back, and the Pentagon solved that problem by installing one trained as Hegseth’s aide. A former Fox News weekend host just fired a four-star general with combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, replaced him with his own former assistant, and did it during a live war in which the next decision could put American soldiers on Iranian soil for the first time in history. No hearing was held. No misconduct cited. The Army woke up on April 3 with a new chief it did not choose, in a war it did not start, preparing for a phase the previous chief apparently could not be trusted to execute. The question is not why George was fired. Every general in the building knows why. The question is what order is coming in the next fourteen days that required removing the one man in the chain of command who might have said no. The war has no perimeter. The chain of command has no objectors. And the next phase has no one left to stop it. open.substack.com/pub/shanak…

The President of the United States woke up this morning and posted a 150-word personal attack on Bruce Springsteen. Not on Iran. Not on the tariffs crashing global markets. Not on the recession warnings. Bruce Springsteen. There is a standard psychological tool called the Hare Psychopathy Checklist. It has 20 items scored on a scale from 0 to 40. The cutoff for a diagnosis of psychopathy is 30. The average person scores around 4. The average maximum security prisoner scores 22. A panel of eminent psychiatrists assessed Trump before his 2024 sentencing in New York. He scored 36 out of 40. The 25th Amendment exists precisely for this. Section 4 allows the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to declare the president unable to carry out his duties. It has never been used. In any normally functioning democracy, the bar would be far lower. Most leaders in that position resign themselves. Instead, this one is on Truth Social at 7:58 AM calling a rock legend a dried-up prune. America is fighting a war it cannot exit in Iran. Markets are in freefall. Allies are making alternative plans. And the man with the nuclear codes is writing concert reviews. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1
