Preprint alert!! How zonated hepatocytes adapt to changes in lipid influx due to fasting or a Western diet (WD). We developed a microscopy-based phenotyping method called single-cell phenomics (scPhenomics) to measure the features of mitochondria and lipid droplets (LDs).

New paper from the lab, lead by graduate student Liang Chen. Here, guided by genome-wide CRISPR screening, we demonstrated that either lipids have a big impact on the lysosomal function, especially under the storage disease conditions. link.springer.com/10.1038/s4…

Today in @natBME we report an in vivo base editing strategy that corrects a common disease-causing mutation and rescues pathology in a mouse model of Zellweger spectrum disorder (ZSD) and restore peroxisomal function in patient derived cells. This work highlights the promise of precision genome editing for treating peroxisomal biogenesis disorders. 1/13

Beautiful work from the @SItzkovitz lab mapping the healthy human liver at the transcriptomics level 😍
Our paper on zonation in the truly healthy human liver is out in @Nature: nature.com/articles/s41586-0… Acquisition of healthy human tissues for cell atlas studies is challenging. The regenerative capacity of the human liver enabled analysis of tissues from living organ donors.
