Meet MAGAt and registered Republican Sydney Mills, a 54-year-old former full-time police officer from the Saugerties Police Department in New York. This fine pillar of the community—who was supposed to protect the public—instead faced a mountain of charges including felony criminal sexual act, predatory sexual assault, rape, criminal sexual act, incest, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The brutal details show that between April and October 2022, Mills repeatedly raped and sexually abused a 14-year-old girl. He routinely used his position of power to terrify the child into silence, committing these heinous acts while actively employed as a cop, and even while wearing his official police uniform. The victim later revealed that she hid the horrific abuse for years because Mills explicitly threatened to murder her entire family and commit suicide if she ever spoke a single word.
His downfall began when the victim finally found the courage to break her silence and report what happened. In mid-2025, an active Saugerties police officer received the information detailing the abuse and refused to cover for his colleague. The officer immediately blew the whistle and escalated the report directly to Saugerties Police Chief Kenneth Swart. To bypass internal department bias, the police chief instantly brought in the Ulster County District Attorney's Office and the Family and Children Advocacy Center to launch a secret, months-long independent investigation.
The undercover probe successfully built a solid case, leading an Ulster County Grand Jury to hand up a sealed criminal indictment against Mills on July 10, 2025. His free ride came to a crashing halt on the morning of July 14, 2025, when Mills unsuspectingly walked into the police station for his scheduled shift. He was completely ambushed inside the headquarters, stripped of his badge, and put in handcuffs by the Ulster County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team. After whimpering out of a trial, he pled guilty on June 15, 2026, and was officially sent away to a state prison cell for five years on September 2, 2026.
