Thanks for hosting @PrimaryVC and love working with the @JoinTroopHR community.
This morning, we hosted a hands-on AI building lab for NYC HR leaders with @JoinTroopHR at @PrimaryVC's office. Attendees broke into grouops and built AI workflows live, with Windmill engineers by their side. From performance reviews to comp analysis and 1:1 prep, teams built and shared automations they created. A huge thank you to Tracy Avin and the TroopHR community for a wonderful morning. More to come!

New month. New format. Same thing. Windmill is getting better at an incredible rate.
We launched a lot in September: 1. Groups: manual, smart (set a rule once and it auto-updates), synced from Slack & Google, and SCIM 2. Engagement surveys: employees answer wherever they are - slack, a web form, or Claude via MCP 3. A new engine for Windy: new harness, new model, better reasoning. Faster, and it reads a lot more. 4. Talk to Windy: live voice transcription in the platform 5. Autodraft: voice and text notes while you write a review, so you can get a high-quality draft back in minutes Plus pdf exports (and some bloopers). More to come in October.

Curious what job title the industry will align on here. * talent engineer * people engineer Something else?
The rise of the technical HR person is very real. Engineers, product managers, & data scientists are being hired directly into HR teams to build AI agents, data layers, and automated workflows from the inside. I keep a running list of the coolest ones I come across each week. Here is who is hiring right now: 1. Gong → Talent Engineer: A 0-to-1 role that does zero recruiting. Wires Workday, Greenhouse, & Gem into a governed data layer for AI agents. 2. @datadoghq → People Systems Developer: Prototyping with LLMs across hiring, onboarding, and reviews to cut manual workflows by 20%. 3. Alloy → People Operations Engineer: Piloting agentic tooling across the lifecycle and wiring talent data into the core BI layer. 4. @databricks → Sr Product Manager, Employee Experience: Leading an internal People Pod building agentic workflows on top of Workday. 5. @figma → Manager, Talent Products: Treating the recruiting stack and AI hiring workflows as a core internal product. 6. @RobinhoodApp → Staff Data Scientist, People Analytics & Insights: Applying language models to retention modeling and org design. 7. @CrusoeAI → Senior Workforce Intelligence Analyst: Building the layer where People teams run Claude analyses against Visier data. 8. @WeAreLegora → Talent Operations Program Manager, Systems & Insights: Running the Ashby instance that took Legora from 40 to 900+ people in 18 months, and building dashboards for recruiting leadership 9. @mercor → Talent Intelligence & Analytics Manager: Frontier AI talent market intelligence and offer modeling. 10. @Waymo → People Operations PM, Systems & Process Design: Structuring knowledge bases for AI-driven People self-service. Hiring for a role like this? Send it my way for next week's list.

pretty proud of how we built "Text Insights" on pulse surveys. analyzing open ended text response questions is tricky. most platforms shove all the responses into an LLM and get a summary. in practice this isn't that useful and you can't slice and dice data easily. instead we built a custom pipeline using jev (@typesafeai) that buckets and classifies every response. this allows you to filter and group responses in real time and you can easily go deeper with Windy whenever you want.

Agents are so good at bug bashes. Literally just tell your agent to open the browser and use your product and record videos of anything broken. Thats it.

I've been told I just recreated the dundies from first principles. Not sure if that's a compliement or not but I'll take it. The office is the best. piped.video/watch?v=XXjStnr_…
one fun thing we do at windmill is a "windy win of the week". we care a lot about celebrating wins - especially ones that might otherwise go under the radar. here's how it works. 1. every week windy (the agent built into @trywindmill) selects a windy win of the week 2. windy presents the winner at all hands with a fun video 3. windy then sends a handwritten note (thanks to @Handwrytten) and a personalized (funny) amazon gift jack & emily have been working on making our core harness faster so windy decided to send a....tiny horse and carriage...i guess that's a harness? yes it's kinda stupid but also stupid things are fun!

the biggest upgrade to windmill pulse since we launched: full engagement surveys. structured questions, four ways to take the same survey, and new insights (powered by jev @typesafeai). automate your weekly check-in all the way to a full annual engagement survey and everything in between. @trywindmill

pulse insights can compare groups without breaking anonymity. company average can look fine while one team is drowning in unclear priorities. ask windy what people actually said.

Congrats @itsalfredw . Listen is awesome. Here at @trywindmill we do something similar but for internal employees. The UX of their reports - especially how they blend data with commentary has inspired a bunch of our product ideas. Just please don't make your UI look like salesforce :)
Listen Labs is joining @Salesforce! A year and a half ago we launched Listen, an AI platform for understanding customers, and it’s been a crazy ride ever since. Today, we work with some of the largest companies in the world, including Microsoft, Anthropic, and Sweetgreen. What started as an AI interviewer is now a full platform for understanding customers. Listen finds the right people, interviews them, analyzes what they say, and even simulates how they'll behave. Listen’s growth quickly accelerated and while we were raising our next round, we met @Benioff. Marc is a hero of mine. I've taken countless ideas from Behind the Cloud and watched him framemog every AI CEO on the planet. We're honored to get framemogged next. With Salesforce, we can bring Listen to every company in the world, much faster. To our customers, our mission remains the same.I stay CEO, @Florian stays CTO and the same team will keep building the product you rely on, now inside Salesforce AI Labs. Thank you for believing in us early. To our team, families, and everyone who believed in us before there was much to believe in, thank you. These years have been the most fun years of my life, and it’s still only just the beginning for Listen. Now back to work. 🚀
