This is really quite shocking from Shami Chakrabarti. "This foolish motion" is what the vast majority of Palestinians believe. Perhaps she could explain to them how it is that she - miraculously - came to understand their own lived experience better than they do. If you want to debate tactics and strategy, fine. But that's not what she's doing. Coming from a member of a party that has materially assisted the wholesale slaughter of small children for the last 3 years it is frankly obscene.

Ed Davey is a lightweight leader with a weak moral and political compass. He recognised Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide, but now says that the Greens calling Zionism racist is antisemitic. Unless the Lib Dems reverse this stand they will seriously damage their position, with Green voters refusing to vote tactically for them.

The Lib Dems called Israel’s actions genocide. That makes their behaviour more self incriminating. They haven’t ruled out working with Labour, which helped facilitate genocide. Neither do they accept obligations of 1948 Convention on the PREVENTION + Punishment of Genocide
