My iPhone finally forced an update to the latest iOS with Liquid Glass UI elements.
And I've spent the last few days finding all the ways to turn that shit off so I can actually read anything and use my device efficiently again.
Next thing was the Safari bar bar now required two taps to get to seeing tabs. Luckily Safari has some options to change that to be more like previous iOS versions. Go to Settings > Apps > Safari and scroll down to Tabs and try the other two options.
Last thing was going into the settings > Display & Brightness and choosing Liquid Glass > Tinted.
And / or Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text and turning on Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast. Those also force Tinted to be enabled.
Fun Fact: We do not know how to tell someone’s gender from DNA. There are strong _correlations_, but it’s far less strong than you may think.
The Olympics tried this, and had to stop because it was “unreliable”…

ALT For example, DHS may request DNA evidence to prove or disprove an individual's biological sex in instances where that determination will impact benefit eligibility.
Funny thing is this wouldn't help 3DS emulation at all, since the 3DS used a fixed 3D viewport.
But it would help one specific DSi game that no one remembers.

People always make fun of one particular company for their terrible console naming.
I man, first they added a silly number, then they called the next release “One”, then they added an X to denote its an upgrade to the existing console.
Sony is so weird.
The original PlayStation was later renamed to the PS1, at the same time they released the PSOne, their first “slim” model, which was advertised sort of as a complete media system as it has an optional LCD screen you could attach to it. And the PSX was an upgrade to the PS2.
So all of Microsoft’s terrible naming is really just them trying to copy Sony’s mistakes.
Even the S consoles are kind of copying the Slim naming convention Sony uses.
I should also note that while Handwiches are no longer available in Disney World, they're available in Disney California Adventure at the Cozy Cones snacks, in the form of the Chile Cone Queso and Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese Cone.
So the Shader BFI talk is getting rescheduled to time with something, and I'm moving the Display + CRT Spatial Scaling talk to release first. Mostly done with slides now, it's loaded with cool stuffs.
Hey can someone at @unity please explain my friend @vintprog why he can't receive any money from his Asset Store sales while living in one of the most dangerous parts of Ukraine (Sumy)? "Sanctions related" and no answer in 28 days - wtf?
PCIe 5.0 for the main PCIe slot is entirely pointless for consumer PCs. The only people it's good for is the GPU manufacturers letting them ship video cards with only 8 or 4 lanes actually connected so they can save some money on their $400+ GPUs.
And that's bad for consumers when they try to upgrade their older systems as they can get much worse performance if they have a PCIe 3.0 motherboard as 8x and 4x PCIe is low enough bandwidth to cause a problem for games.
