같은 날 Hadja Lahbib 위원이 “What’s in my bag?

The U.S. is focusing only on cyber response, while other countries are again pushing food stockpiling. The timing feels off.
After the White House National Preparedness Month message on September 2, 2026, the U.S. has issued no new food or water stockpiling guidance.
Ready.gov and FEMA emergency kit recommendations remain existing standing advice. What the U.S. has recently emphasized is cyber threat response.
Meanwhile, the UK (Be Ready on October 22), France, Japan and others are again recommending “prepare 72 hours of emergency supplies” and “stock food and water,” citing war, disasters, water/power outages, and cyber attacks.
The EU Preparedness Union Strategy was announced on March 26, 2025. On the same day, Commissioner Hadja Lahbib posted a “What’s in my bag? Survival edition” video showing a 72-hour kit (water, food, radio, flashlight, first-aid) and telling people to prepare to survive 72 hours at home. This is a post-COVID strategy, yet similar recommendations are being re-emphasized now in the UK, France, Japan and elsewhere. One cannot help but question whether the EU is trying to push a failed strategy onto other countries again, and whether it is deliberately creating confusion ahead of the U.S. midterms. (This is suspicion only, not a confirmed fact.)
Even though each country’s timeline is different, the similar message of “war / disaster / water cut / power cut / cyber attack → stock food” appearing at the same time looks odd. The U.S. is not pushing new food stockpiling and is focusing on cyber response — so why are other countries re-issuing similar recommendations at this moment?
The U.S. is not newly pushing food stockpiling and is concentrating on cyber response. South Korea should follow that direction. Watch the global recommendations carefully, but do not be misled by the repeated messaging at this timing. Only the U.S. government position is reliable — the rest raises questions about why it is being repeated now.

This is just my personal opinion, but
why does it feel like a political ploy
when various countries suddenly start talking about preparing for a state of emergency
right before the midterm elections?
It’s suspicious that most European countries are making such statements
even though there’s no imminent threat of war or any other crisis
It’s actually in the
Indo-Pacific region where military tensions are escalating
