Dear X, A post that doesn't tag me, isn't a response to me, and is just a "thing you might like" IS NOT A NOTIFICATION!!!! STOP IT!!!!

Full bags of fun size. Maliciously comply!
If I got this letter from a stupid HOA I'd give out one pound bricks of chocolate just to be oppositionally defiant.

Returning to this thread because my ISO is finally somewhat fit for public consumption (and has its own website now). scrollbarlinux.com/

Reminds me of the CTF at OpenWest. That was fun!
Something I think could be very fun in a "ooh nostalgia for all the things I don't need to know anymore" sort of way is going through one of @QuinnyPig's technical interviews from 2014 They're about 4-5 hours long in a single session and _brutal_ on systems internals

I stopped taking vendor demos by making vendors qualify themselves. I was getting 6 to 7 cold emails a day asking for “15 minutes.” So I made a form. Before anyone could book time with IT, they had to answer 27 questions about pricing, SSO, data retention, implementation time, support SLAs, and whether they had ever been breached. Most vendors disappeared after Question 8. The ones who finished usually attached enough information that I didn’t need a demo anymore. Then Procurement found the form. They loved it. They added 19 questions. Security added 34. Legal added 11. Now every software vendor has to complete 91 questions before talking to anyone. Sales vendors complain constantly. Procurement calls it streamlined intake. I haven’t watched someone share a Gartner slide in 4 months. This might be my best work.

When your kid who injured his toe comes into your Gemini-recorded meeting to tell you he spilled a bucket of paint so you run out of the room! Glad to have these things documented!

Not many things better than being a good Rolodex moment for someone!
Woke up to hearing that a friend I helped push to apply with another friend’s company was a great fit. Everyone seems happy and that makes me happy. 😊

today i've learned that 2 air gapped computers in the same room can communicate with each other by regulating their CPU temperature we're not gonna be able to contain AGI
Community note
Two air-gapped computers can communicate via CPU temperature regulation only if both are pre-infected with malware, placed within 40 cm, at 1-8 bits per hour as shown in 2015 research. arxiv.org/abs/1503.07919 gizmodo.com/openai-researc… windowsforum.com/news/openai-th… xenospectrum.com/en/openai-air-…

I will admit, I am enjoying vibe coding. I may have been a teensy tiny bit wrong.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more it's clear: Open Source does not have a funding problem at all.
