A city that listens to its hackers. 🧡 @jaromil on civic hacking in Lugano: the city listens to us, we listen to them, and together we pilot what moves society forward, not just what makes a profit. Every city needs a Plan ₿. planb.lugano.ch

As an early-days demo-scener I did admire farb-rausch as one of the best groups to ever walk our stages, and here I have archived the C++ source code release of their game engine, called werkkzeug3, made in cooperation with the. produkkt. github.com/jaromil/kkrieger-…
In 2004, a German demoscene group released a game called .kkrieger. It was a full 3D first-person shooter with dynamic lighting, textures, sound effects, music, and monster AI. The entire executable was 96 kilobytes. Instead of storing images and audio files, they wrote C++ and Assembly that generated the 3D meshes, textures, and sound waves mathematically in RAM when the game booted. Today, a single website's "Accept Cookies" banner is 10x larger than that entire 3D game.

A huge thank you to the teams behind Devuan & XLibre (and the developers who built the components before them). Your outstanding work has made LCOS easier to produce, and has been a true joy to work with.

Amazing. One click in lower left corner brings back memories when @lunardragon420 was typing away BIP 1 and more Bitcoin code in our squat in ❌❌❌
Don’t trust. Read the BIPs. Because nobody does. They’re written by developers, for developers. So I built BIP Explorer: all 213 Bitcoin Improvement Proposals in plain English, plus a map of how each one led to the next. bipexplorer.com

As a family of migrants with Italian roots, and myself a speaker of Neapolitan dialect, we celebrated #ColumbusDay in our own way, even from far away from NYC. We watched this wonderful film. Highly recommended! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naples…

Replying to @raspibolt
The best part: a node that hadn’t synced since August switched to Roots and caught up right where it stopped, no need to start from scratch 🤩 Look at it go!

One of the best outcomes of the horrible Woke-Core/Spam/Knots/BIP110 shitshow, was @Miketwenty1&co trying to mock Knots with the parody "Bitcoin Knobs", but inadvertently creating a very nice thing: a fork of Core with more options for opinionated users. I was sad to see Knobs disappearing, when Knots committed seppuku and became unusable on Bitcoin due to the fork nonsense, and a parody didn't make sense anymore. But during one of our latest Lugano meetups, a long-term Knots user, in love with some of its knobs, who wasn't even aware of the recent shitshow, suddenly realized the latest release of his beloved implementation was driving users to a shitcoin. Luckily this "user" also happened to be...a 2010-class Bitcoiner, former Core contributor (since 2011!), and one of the creators and maintainers of a very respected Linux distribution (the anti-systemd @DevuanOrg). So...he just created an easy-to-review patch to port some of the knobs he liked into Core, maintaining the binary. :)
Good morning Bitcoin! The Roots patch is now v30.3 ported to apply smoothly on Core with all features provided by Knots, including Tor auto-connect for privacy. Here I joined the Italian Bitcoin podcast to talk about the inside outs of my recipe for running nodes at home.

DISPATCH · Wed, Oct 7, 2026 01 · Rome gets MAM, billed as the city's first permanent museum devoted entirely to media art, opening Friday. Its standing show, HyperMedia, puts net art, NFTs, AI and immersive work in one collection: 48 artists in 35 collectives from ten countries, among them @gmunk, @JoshuaDavis and @jaromil, with the 25-year Shockart.net archive folded in. 02 · The MoMA lobby screen that showed @refikanadol's "Unsupervised" turns to @Jakob_steensen's "Wetland" on Oct 12: Berl-Berl, a singing digital swamp built from macro photogrammetry, 3D scans and a game engine, with vocals by Arca. His first US show, and no AI in it. 03 · The opt-out fight widens. At Australia's AI inquiry, ARIA's Annabelle Herd warned "Australia's artists will be the roadkill in the rush," while @AnthropicAI's Jeffrey Bleich called licensing every piece of training content "technically impossible." In Brussels, the @EU_Commission's copyright consultation, open until Nov 3, puts opt-out registries, crawler ID rules and pay for rightsholders on the table. 04 · "All art is mathematics" was central to @HerbertWFranke, Susanne Päch tells @postanika in @RtClick_Save: a first English edition of Kunst und Konstruktion (1957), his 2027 centenary, and the NFTs that funded digitising 1,800+ of his manuscripts at ZKM. Museum Folkwang pairs him with Gottfried Jäger from Oct 16. 05 · Infrastructure, both ways. On Bitcoin, @TurtleMoonCC's open-source Bitcoin Browser (early beta) renders inscribed HTML, WebGL and 3D, traces recursive dependencies and reads from your own node. Founder @TMCC_Patches to @Genfinity: "the data exists while the access layer does not." On Ethereum, Igloo is shutting @AbstractChain on Dec 15, the second layer 2 to close in a week after @Blast. Anyone with work there has until then to move it. 06 · Drops: @paranoidhill's LIQUID NOSTALGIA on @SuperRare, 50 oil sketches held in VR frames, drawn from Winamp skins and phone faceplates. @peakstarwave's ANIMALS lands today. Thursday brings @burst_cryptoart × Coral Garvey's AGAINST ALL ODDS, and @RalenArc's ScatterForm on @opensea through Oct 15, 300 generative editions built from everyday textures and patterns. 07 · From the studio: @Ordinals10K's new series Confabulation, seven code-based works inscribed on Bitcoin under one parent, the first on Oct 5. Built in vanilla JavaScript and HTML Canvas, each child is named for a memory or identity syndrome (Wernicke, Bonnet, Ganser, Capgras, Fregoli, Korsakoff). Confabulation itself: "an unconscious memory error where the brain fills in missing gaps with false information." 08 · New on catalogue.gallery: Andy Warhol's 1985 Amiga experiments and the 28 lost images Cory Arcangel helped pull off his floppies; @sashastiles's Poems After Jangar at Sapar Contemporary, through Nov 6; @Hoizon's Slightly Wrong selling out on SuperRare; and OKAYAMAN's (@FKYNArt) first solo show, Nov 14 in Hachioji. 09 · Ahead: Nam June Paik's TV Buddha in Seongnam's "Art in the Age of Vaporization" (Thu) and his first robot, K-456, at Gwangju's ACT Festival (Oct 23). Early Veo test footage remixed in "Post Generation" at tiat, San Francisco (Fri). @harvey_rayner's Painting with Code, London (Oct 13). @ochyai's null²ⁿ opens for good in Yokohama (Oct 14). Theo Triantafyllidis's climbable Feral Metaverse spider at Frieze London (Oct 14–18).
