Jean-Luc Picard remains the single most compelling vision of progressive politics I am familiar with — secular, rational, compassionate, egalitarian; a believer in progress & abundance but also duty, hard work, and a constant battle for self-improvement and improving the world.

I watched TNG relatively late in life, but it remains the single most impactful piece of media I've ever experienced, largely because of Picard. He represents so much of what I aspire to be, and I can't imagine anyone but Sir Patrick bringing that character to life. RIP

none of the other star treks hold a candle to TNG. Picard / Patrick Stewart has a level of gravitas befitting of an actual head of state and honestly he should’ve run for office. everyone else looks ridiculous showing up to the first contact events and so on

Always the same “joke” - it never seems to get old to them. In case you forgot, smell—and the way we talk about it—is deeply political.

Coinbase is going native too. Judging by how many teams reached out after our native announcement, expect more of these soon.
