I met Cilla Black once - she sat at a table I'd reserved and refused to move. Her spiteful arrogance was astounding. http://t.co/jHIZd90bVK

ONE MAN LEFT We are once again asking for the Met to offer a shred of consistency if they are going to enforce this unjust and absurd law. After hundreds were arrested outside the US Embassy in London, one man was ignored. End the madness. Lift The Ban on Palestine Action.

Cannot WAIT to see Ken Russell’s masterpiece The Devils again today, this time at the BFI IMAX! I cannot believe this is happening.
The reatored and remastered director’s cut of The Devils, Ken Russell’s masterpiece, finally released uncensored after 55 years, is nothing short of a miracle. And what an honour to see it in the presence of the magnificent Vanessa Redgrave. It is completely unmissable #LFF

Heartbroken by the death of Sir Patrick Stewart. From Shakespeare to Star Trek, he boldly went where few had gone before, and took millions of us with him. He never forgot his roots, nor did he shy away from using his voice to stand up for others, particularly those affected by domestic violence. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Patrick Stewart was, like many of the greatest British artists of the 20th Century, a working class boy who became a world-class artist thanks to a public arts education made possible by Post War social democracy. He never forgot it.

I think a lot of you ought to stop centring yourself around this - he’ll rot in jail for the lives he destroyed.

I’m hoping the Oxford St situation might bring to a head the need to get a grip on London cyclist behaviour. Red light observance is about 25%. As a pedestrian, I am far more nervous crossing a cycle lane than a road.

We've had enough of budgets that tinker around the edges. It's time for fundamental, transformative change. Ahead of tomorrow's budget, I have written to the Chancellor to urge him to take on vested interests, end the failure of privatisation and tax the rich.

Extraordinary how many people seem to think that the ‘ped-’ in ‘pedestrianise’ stands for ‘pedal’
A momentous day for London. I’m so excited to see our plans to transform Oxford Street becoming a reality. And this is just the beginning.

Equally extraordinary is how many people believe that they could drive their cars down Oxford Street, and how many people believe that the shops like Selfridges and John Lewis take deliveries through the main entrance
