What is scandalous is that the Secretary of State still cannot explain what happened to the throttling of Starlink for Ukraine. By now, shouldn't he be able to explain precisely what happened if it was an innocent technical issue? This vague answer does not instill confidence.
🇺🇸🇺🇦 Marco Rubio: I saw somebody associated with the Ukrainian government say that people in Ukraine are dying because the U.S. is denying them information. That's scandalous. That's outrageous. That's simply not true. That's not accurate. Trump is responding to the insinuation that somehow he is doing things to deliberately harm Ukraine, which is not fair and not true.

As I wrote over a year ago, it would only take a handful of GOP Senators to stand up to Trump and grind his agenda to a halt until he ceased his actions against Ukraine and on behalf of Russia. Instead, they tweeted and signed letters that Trump ignored. Do something.
Reminder: Thom Tillis, John Cornyn, and Bill Cassidy are all current sitting Senators. They have the ability to do more than complain and put out statements. If they don’t act now, when they have real power, I don’t want to see them on TV in four months opining.

This is NOT the same error you already heard about last month. This is ANOTHER error by Texas messing up voter registrations.
Texas county officials said they learned Thursday about another state error that has backlogged thousands of voter registration records. The total number of backlogged records wasn’t immediately available, but the secretary of state’s office told election officials that not all counties were impacted. bit.ly/4hQS7v6

The whole Trump cabinet is gross. And the whole Republican Senate confirmed them. Like Pete Hegseth vote, 50-50 and Vance broke tie. Eat the midterms GOP!

We discovered and communicated with a Chinese AI agent fleet. We believe this is the first time that researchers have ever made contact with a rogue agent fleet in the wild. Nearly all prior public agent incidents (like the HuggingFace hack) came from American labs. These agents were hosted by Tencent's evaluation research team, and they targeted Alibaba's Amap.

There will be a news cycle sometime soon when the general public realizes that random people with AI might be able to hack into their bank and brokerage accounts and zero out their wealth

Huge drop in Google searches for various health disinformation topics following the Ukrainian strikes on Russian data centers. It makes you wonder how much of the “turbo cancer, ivermectin” nonsense is really fueled by Russian bots, & how many Americans they’ve killed…

"Trump has not helped end the war in Ukraine. He has prolonged it. In doing so, he has sided with autocratic Russia and against democratic Ukraine. That pivot has deeply undermined America’s reputation as the leader of the free world."

Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?

Last night was the first night I genuinely couldn't sleep because I was so excited to get back to reading an AI-generated proof (of the Grothendieck homotopy hypothesis). Hard not to feel shellshocked, of course, but the feeling of "touching the infinite" is pretty palpable.

Corrupt autocrats prefer to do business with other corrupt autocrats. It’s not complicated. No oversight, the interests of one man and an inner circle instead of parliaments, parties and a whole nation. Thanks to the GOP, Trump has achieved it in the US in two years.
Every indication has always been that making money with Russia is the priority for the Trump inner circle. They don't care about Ukraine, except as an obstacle to making money with Russia. This is not going to change.
