I finally redesigned my personal site. What started as a basic home for SEO research, experiments and free tools somehow grew to millions of page views. The new version is heavily inspired by AI agents. HAL 9000 fans may spot something. 👇 suganthan.com/

DeepSeek just opened its search index to SEOs and developers. Instead of just posting about the news like everyone else, I decided to actually test it. 110 API calls later, I’d spent a grand total of $0.08. The API exposes authority scores, reranking scores and the sources it retrieves. DeepSeek also claims to have protections against SEO and GEO spam. So I put that to the test. My website got an authority score of 1 out of 4. A “Free Robux Generator” PDF on a government gov site got 4 out of 4. The highest authority tier. Sir, I’d like to speak to your manager. 😬 Jokes aside, this is a significant release for SEOs. We can now query DeepSeek’s own search engine and inspect its sources, scores and rankings directly. I’ve written up my preliminary findings, including some questionable rankings, spam results and how its fetcher accesses websites. suganthan.com/blog/deepseek-…

Is it just me, or has Opus become painfully slow lately? Even the simplest tasks are taking over 10 minutes.

Cool use of Claude to customise your TV launcher. I’d describe sideloading a custom launcher through developer mode as customisation rather than “hacking”, though. Did you also use an exploit to gain root access, say on a Samsung running Tizen? That would be a different story.

📣 ATTENTION 📣 Not to be outdone, we’re unveiling our own flying machine. Strictly speaking, it isn’t new. We’ve been doing this for a while now; we just never thought to hire a stage and fire it into the air. In hindsight, an oversight. It doesn’t drive, seats nobody, and we’re happy to confirm it’s AI. What it does do is put your brand at the top when someone asks ChatGPT who to go with. That’s where a growing share of buyers now start. That’s the bit we do at @snippet_digital: getting brands mentioned and cited in AI answers. Less exciting than a flying car, considerably more useful. Already in production. Has been for some time. Message me if you’d like a go.

iPhone 19 Pro Max idea. Accelerometer detects free fall, tiny thrusters fire to slow the descent, and gyroscope data helps control its orientation so it doesn’t land screen first. 😹 Basically, give the iPhone its own landing system…

Switched to X Ultra unified subscription. Got prorated refunds for my existing Premium and Cursor subscriptions. £180/month for 50x usage. Too early to tell if it’s good value for money, so I’ll give it a month or so. Having everything under one subscription is definitely a big plus. (Bit like Apple one)

Rank tracking is broken right now. “Poisoned SERPs” have hit almost every data provider. But there’s still a way to build accurate and detailed ranking reports for clients, using a method Google hasn’t blocked (yet). The setup: 1. Connect the @serplens MCP to Claude Desktop 2. Create a destination for the data (I use Notion) 3. Ask Claude to run scheduled ranking checks It works because the SERP Lens browser strips /goto links by default, and Claude can switch the VPN location through the MCP. I’ve got it checking a client’s keywords from Sydney every morning, logging rank, URL and SERP features automatically. Comment “SERP” and I’ll send you the full setup guide. h/t @suganthan for flagging this 🙌

Agreed. Also SEO LinkedIn is a train wreck.
If I click on the “For you” tab, it’s just full of SEO scams and false AI search visibility studies.
