LOOK- same few antigens every time! Everyone crowding onto validated biology while the hard targets wait. New ideas are hard, but that's where patients need us to go ;)
Agree, lung cancer ADC/BsAb pipelines look the same. We mapped 47 active trials (@ClinLungCancer): • BsAbs ~70% / ADCs ~30% • Top BsAb: EGFR×c-MET (~28%) • Top ADC: TROP2 (~33%), HER2 (~20%) Same few antigens. More me-too than novel. doi.org/10.1016/j.cllc.2024.…

Since people are talking about target crowding, here's a chart from an upcoming post: <5% of new drugs entering the clinic are going after targets that haven't been tested clinically before, ~60% are going after targets with an approved drug. New ideas are hard to find!

Completely agree with @DrJNaidoo, @teekayowo for @ASCO President Elect!!!
Delighted to see thoracic oncology legend Taofeek Owonikoko @teekayowo on the ballot for @ASCO President-Elect. Taofeek is the best of us: an original thinker, exceptional scientist, inspiring leader, & true team player. @ASCO would thrive under his leadership 🗳️ @OncoAlert #LCSM

DeLLphi-305🚨 A 0.42 hazard ratio for death in extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer. In a disease where we’ve celebrated gains of two to three months, this is a different level. 🫁 Tarlatamab–Durvalumab Maintenance for Extensive-Stage Small-Cell Lung Cancer nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE… @MP_3855, @ADesaiMD 📊 In the open-label phase 3 DeLLphi-305 trial, 563 patients with extensive-stage SCLC without progression after first-line chemoimmunotherapy were randomized to tarlatamab plus durvalumab or durvalumab alone as maintenance. The median overall survival was 21.1 versus 12.7 months (HR 0.42), and the median PFS 7.4 versus 1.9 months (HR 0.34). Grade ≥3 adverse events occurred in 46.8% versus 40.6%; cytokine release syndrome, mostly grade 1–2, affected nearly half of tarlatamab-treated patients. #LungCancer Pinging our faculty @christine_lovly, @GlopesMd, @DrSanjayPopat, @StephenVLiu, @jillfeldman4, @UOzkerim, @DrMirallas, @MartinReck2 , @bmassutis @UmbertoMalapel1 , @CharuAggarwalMD @peters_solange, @HenningWillers, @HHorinouchi, @BRicciutiMD, @PercyLeeMD, @bensolomon1, @Latinamd, @DrJNaidoo, @barlesi, @VanitaNoronha, @ChristianRolfo @Tony_Calles @s_couraud @marinagarassino @g_mountzios @BairdAM @barlesi @JFreemanDaily @Piuchagarrido @PercyLeeMD @bensolomon1 @VanitaNoronha @alexdrilon @JordiRemon @JulienMazieres @TerriConneran @HenningWillers

Anthropic update: not just molecule design. ➡️ Bottlenecks distributed; next = human trials ➡️ @BMS used Claude for early study plans + PoS Phase 1 Q: does AI PoS weight enrollability + biomarkers like we do bedside? @OncoAlert @oncodaily
Over the past few months, Anthropic scientists have engaged in deep research partnerships with six organizations developing new medicines. We've also begun drug discovery efforts of our own. In doing so, we’ve learned much more about how Claude can support the many stages of drug development. In this blog post, we share some early results from these efforts, and describe how this work fits in with our wider ambitions in the life sciences. anthropic.com/research/early…
