So honored to join this club and to know my peers value my impact. But the celebration and honor is even bigger knowing I join together with @rosslevinemd , our CSO whose impact on medicine is truly great.
We're proud to share that Dr. Ross Levine, Chief Scientific Officer at MSK and Dr. @dana_peer, Chair of the Computational and Systems Biology Program at the Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) at MSK, have been elected to the @theNAMedicine. With these latest appointments, 30 MSK faculty members have now received this prestigious honor. Learn more about these two elections: bit.ly/3VWdHWq

1/ Most genes and variants matter somewhere but look silent in any one cell model. Can we build conditions that reveal phenotypes? With @kanishkadey, we engineer cell states to expose hidden disease biology and trace how genetic risk reaches disease genes. biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

💡 What sets the size of a germinal center? — why lymphatics of course 😉 Our new study with Carla Nowosad reveals how lymphatic remodeling constrains germinal center growth and shapes the quality of the antibody response. @ImmunityCP @nyugrossman cell.com/immunity/fulltext/S…

Very happy to share our new paper in Nature Cancer. This project started with a simple question: what drives the early loss of adipose tissue during pancreatic cancer cachexia?

Great collaboration with @CentralParkWMD @MarcHilmi @EileenMOReilly @ciacobu @schoenfeld_j @MckerrowWilson & an incredible team 👇👇👇 biorxiv.org/content/10.64898… The broader immunologic point from this work is the distinction between systemic activation and tissue-effective immunity. Neoantigen recognition by specific T-cell receptor, clonal expansion and spatial context all matter and the tumor ecosystem can determine whether a T-cell response becomes effective. From studies like this we will learning more about the fundamental rules of T-cell engagement in cancer and how to translate for precision immunotherapies, such as cancer vaccines, to help more patients. @MSKCancerCenter
🧵10/10 The principle, the team and what comes next Our take-home model: 🧬 Neoantigen recognition

🤝 Spatial engagement
⏳ Durable control 🚧 And resistance when that engagement is blocked. Incredibly proud of @MarcHilmi for leading this work and grateful to @EileenMOReilly @ciacobu and the entire David M. Rubenstein committee @CpcrMsk @MSKCancerCenter for creating the environment where this kind of deeply integrated human science is possible and to Ben Greenbaum @bengrbm Josh Schoenfeld @schoenfeld_j Wilson Mckerrow @MckerrowWilson and our entire sPARK lab team for building this together. 🙏 sparklaboratory.org/ This is what collaborative pancreatic cancer science 🧬🔬can uncover. 🧵 1/10 The arc: POLAR - MDF – TIE Pancreatic cancer is profoundly resistant to immune checkpoint inhibitors. Yet, POLAR (pembrolizumab plus olaparib) trial showed that a subset of patients, especially with HRD (gBRCA2/1m or gPALB2m) tumors, can achieve remarkably durable control. That led us to two questions: #1 👆🏼what makes these tumors immunogenic? #2 ✌️what makes that immunity actually work? 👑 #2. POLAR TIE @biorxivpreprint biorxiv.org/content/10.64898… #1. Pancreatic tumors are highly heterogeneous and immunosuppressive. But is immune resistance imposed across the whole tumor - or built locally by distinct cancer-cell states? I’m incredibly excited to share our new paper, now out in @Nature! 🎉 doi.org/10.1038/s41586-026-1… (1/7)

Neural niches are recurrent features of human cancer that may relay signals to nearby cells, to the immune system, + to the brain. So what’s in these niches, and what happens when cancer cells barge in? We take a look under the hood in our new preprint 1/ biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…
