Problem is no one understands second order impacts. Especially liberals who hate the rich
Economists estimate that Prop 40 (California billionaire tax) would COST Californians $39B! It raises $30B one time. But billionaires who move away stop paying state income tax, and that adds up to ~$70B in lost revenue.

California's Billionaire Tax Act would collect roughly $30 billion. Accounting for lost income taxes from departures, the mean Net Present Value is negative $39 billion, from Benjamin Jaros and Joshua Rauh nber.org/papers/w35899

🚨 BREAKING : Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan caught using COMPANY MONEY for Private Jets flights. Peter Thiel caught him red-handed using his investment money as a personal wallet. Founders Fund, Peter Thiel's fund, discovered that Shayne had charged the following as company expenses : - private jet flights - apartment rent - designer clothes They immediately demanded a FULL REFUND Shayne was forced to reimburse the money. ICE and Founders Fund then teamed up to push for stronger financial controls They were the one that forced Shayne to appoint a COO. You remember Shayne's ChatGPT written tweet gleefully announcing the hiring of Collin McKinney Hill as COO ? I called it extremely suspicious at the time. Turns out i was right, investors basically forced Shayne to hire him as a soft coup. I don't know how long Shayne can stay in place when their main investors have lost confidence.

Braze $BRZE went public in 2021 at $65 a share. It opened at $87.20. Salesforce $CRM now plans to buy it for $47.50 a share, valuing it at about $5.66B. That’s 27% below the IPO price and 46% below the opening price. But Braze’s revenue has grown almost 4x from roughly $186M around its IPO to $738M in FY2026. Braze helps brands send personalized messages across email, text, apps and other channels, based on what customers are doing in real time. For Salesforce, that fits neatly with Marketing Cloud: give companies a better way to turn customer data into relevant outreach. @Benioff is the goat putting on a masterclass right now of M&A like no other CEO/company.

Ahem. Five years ago I wrote a column about DNA test results that showed there was a 99.999998 percent chance that Ilhan Omar and her second husband Ahmed Elmi were siblings. A few hours before we went to press my informant was arrested by Biden's FBI. Funny that.

“AI has no ROI” is an absurd comment. Just look at the filings: • Shopify: +30% revenue to $11.6B, headcount down to 7.6k • Klarna: revenue roughly doubled, headcount cut in half, AI doing customer service work • Salesforce: support team cut from 9k to 5k because agents now handle half the volume • Block: cut ~40% of staff, raised guidance, explicitly pointed to AI tools • Applied Materials: plans to double revenue without doubling headcount via AI productivity The ROI is already in the 10-Ks and earnings calls and we’re just scratching the surface of its capabilities as businesses optimize how they adopt and use agents.

Did you know that 81% of Somali immigrant-headed households in Minnesota receive some form of welfare? For comparison, only 21% of native households get government assistance. What’s the point of bringing in immigrants that need to be supported by U.S. taxpayers?

At 17 mg/day (8.5 mg twice daily), the reported increase was 36.4 hairs/cm². Conventional oral minoxidil at just 5 mg once daily achieved 35.9 hairs/cm² in a smaller published study. I don’t see compelling evidence of a meaningful advantage over normal release oral minoxidil, which is available now at my Immortals Pharmacy. I personally take 3.5 mg daily.

.@jlanzone is a quiet killer and has assembled the avengers in talent at @Yahoo
NEW: In 2021, Apollo acquired a massive internet business for ~$5B. Just 5 years later, it's become *one of the fastest-returning deals in the firm's history.* 700M monthly users. Billions in revenue. And an enormous distribution advantage that would be nearly impossible to replicate today. Apollo's Reed Rayman recruited Jim Lanzone (@jlanzone) to lead the turnaround. The company? @Yahoo. I sat down with CEO Jim Lanzone, one of the internet industry's most accomplished turnaround executives, to go inside @apolloglobal's PE M&A playbook for Yahoo, the economics of the acquisition, & why this may be one of the most underrated assets in tech. The numbers: › ~$5B acquisition › 700M monthly users, including 100M+ each across Yahoo Finance & Sports › 75% direct traffic, with ~75% of daily users logged in › Hundreds of millions in annual ad-tech losses addressed through restructuring › Major divestitures including AOL, TechCrunch & Edgecast › One of Apollo's fastest-returning deals, with Jim saying they're now "playing with house money" › Newer search companies valued at 6X Yahoo despite having a fraction of its users, revenue & profitability But the most interesting part of this deal is the operator. Before Yahoo, Jim helped drive a 50X stock increase at Ask Jeeves, grew CBS Interactive from 70M to 220M users, and led Tinder. And unlike the traditional PE playbook of aggressive cost extraction, PE micromanagement, Apollo backed an experienced product executive to restructure the business, rebuild its leadership, & reinvest in growth. Now Yahoo is moving from turnaround to comeback, with an entirely rebuilt product ecosystem, its own AI search engine through Yahoo Scout, and a potential path back to the public markets. We get into what it's really like operating under Apollo, the leadership decisions behind the turnaround, the value of internet distribution at scale, and why some startups with less than 0.1% of Yahoo's users command higher valuations. It sounds like a conspiracy theory, but "California gas is expensive because of a failed high-speed rail project" is 100% real. Almost half of ALL GAS TAXES go to funding the high speed rail project that hasn't delivered a single functional piece of rail in the last 11 years.
