This video has done immeasurable damage to modern logo design. piped.video/gVUVUoXrPzM Aaron Draplin is a phenomenal designer. If you are about to redesign the logo for a beloved industrial brand, stop and ask yourself “am I Aaron Draplin?”

I’ve had enough. I work for a major automotive manufacturer and during one of our recent tests, the test vehicle slammed directly into a brick wall at over 70mph. Imagine billions of vehicles traveling at hundreds of miles per hour and they’re just slamming into various brick walls over and over and over again. The subjects from our recent test are, and I don’t mean to be macabre or dramatic here but I think it’s relevant, dead. If we don’t all agree to a slow, I think that within a decade the entire human race could slam into or possibly even THROUGH a brick wall at a high rate of speed. I don’t want that, and I’ve put a team of my friends together who don’t want that either. Still not selling my stock obviously lol

There are thousands of these old dinghies for sale for a few hundred bucks each. Highly recommended! Kids had a great time learning how to steer the boat.

Interesting to see sharing via link copy weighted so high. I get that it drives traffic to the app so it's considered valuable, but they would have no way to know of the recipient even clicks the link (unless share URLs are unique, which I don't think they are). Seems like you could game the system by just copying the link... You wouldn't even have to actually send it to anyone 🤔

2026 is taking your Starlink satellite terminal down to the river to get some net access so you can check in with your AI agents and attend a few meetings before heading back to camp. Starlink mini is essential tech. They’re cheap. Buy one.

If you’re packing for a road trip and the voice in your head says you don’t have room for more tools, IGNORE IT. Trailer broke. $60 Amazon welder is cheaper than mobile repair. Now Just need to find an outlet; don’t wanna get kicked out of this holiday inn express.

Something to think about.
#truckphoto Walmart Freightliner on I-80 in front of the Kennecott Garfield Smelter Stack. Built in 1970 to disperse gases from the massive copper mine. At 1,225 feet high, it is the tallest freestanding structure west of the Mississippi River!

Reject the hammock and free yourself with an inflatable bed.
Nobody said you couldn’t bring a hammock to the airport. To reduce tension, or to avoid having a falling out with the airport, check with them about where you can and can’t hang your napping apparatus.

I made my wife’s wedding ring out of titanium on this bad boy in our hackerspace. They’re out there. Many are too focused on 3D printing, and a lot of the people have lost sight of the core idea, but I still think the core idea is good (access to expensive tools).

Reminder that if you’re ever feeling down you can always just build some dumb bullshit and you will instantly feel better. Here’s the recipe: 1) Go to Home Depot 2) Purchase 2x4s 3) Cut them into small shapes 4) Reassemble them into other shapes 100% lifetime success rate on this method.

The reason for the SpaceX IPO is to give everybody in the country (via 401ks, index funds, etc) an interest in it. Much less likely to get attacked when the politics flip over if everybody has an interest.

We’re extremely spoiled, and it doesn’t need to be this big/nice, but a van is seriously hard to beat. We pull a utility trailer with some solar and batteries to run a fridge, store tools, etc. We spend 3 months a year in this all over the country with 3 kids (now 4). Before this it was a minivan.
