What happens when the next breakthrough in quantum computing comes not from building a larger quantum computer, but from using classical supercomputing to make quantum systems more reliable? @NVIDIA has announced a major research milestone with a record-scale simulation of a 104-qubit fault-tolerant quantum computing system using Europe's JUPITER exascale supercomputer in Germany. The research validates an approach known as magic state cultivation that could reduce physical qubit requirements by up to 90% compared with previous methods. This is significant because one of quantum computing's biggest limitations is not just computational power. It is reliability. Quantum systems are extremely sensitive to noise and errors. Making them fault-tolerant requires sophisticated error correction and substantial computing resources. By using NVIDIA GH200 GPUs and advanced simulation technologies, researchers can investigate complex quantum architectures before building the physical hardware. We are witnessing an important convergence of three technological infrastructures: Artificial Intelligence and accelerated computing. High-performance and exascale supercomputing. Fault-tolerant quantum computing. These technologies are increasingly becoming interconnected foundations of the next computing economy. The implications could eventually extend across scientific discovery, materials research, pharmaceuticals, energy and advanced industrial systems. But quantum computing's future will depend on more than increasing the number of qubits. It will depend on making quantum computation reliable, scalable and economically practical. Can Europe become a global leader in AI by building on what it already does best: engineering, manufacturing and industrial innovation? This is one of the most important questions emerging from NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026. @NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz are advancing a new vision for Germany's industrial future. Their cooperation focuses on Physical AI, robotics, AI-powered factories and the development of a stronger European industrial AI ecosystem. Germany's manufacturing economy has decades of engineering expertise, specialised industrial data and a powerful Mittelstand of SMEs. But industrial knowledge alone is no longer enough. The next phase of global competitiveness will depend on how countries combine their industrial capabilities with AI infrastructure, accelerated computing, robotics and autonomous systems. NVIDIA is also planning investments in four German companies: Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo and Reflex Aerospace. These developments are part of a wider NVIDIA commitment of nearly $10 billion to Europe's AI ecosystem. For Europe, this goes beyond technology investment. It is about industrial sovereignty, economic resilience, workforce transformation and the ability to build and control critical AI capabilities. The question is whether Europe can transform its industrial heritage into a competitive advantage in the emerging AI economy. What happens when factories stop being just automated production systems and start becoming intelligent, adaptive environments capable of planning, simulating and optimising their own operations? We are entering the next industrial revolution driven by Physical AI, digital twins and autonomous AI agents. @Siemens and @NVIDIA are demonstrating this transformation at Siemens' Electronics Factory in Erlangen, Germany. The results are significant: - Up to 85% reduction in engineering effort. - Up to 40% faster time-to-market. - Up to 20% savings in production planning costs. Using NVIDIA Cosmos world models, digital twins and AI agents, manufacturers can now simulate production processes, train inspection systems before physical prototypes exist and evaluate operational decisions in virtual environments. This is a fundamental shift. AI is moving beyond generating content and analysing information. It is becoming part of the infrastructure that designs, manages and transforms our physical economy. But the next challenge is not simply building autonomous factories. It is ensuring these systems are reliable, secure, interoperable and accessible to manufacturers of all sizes. The future of industry will increasingly depend on the convergence of AI, robotics, computing infrastructure and human expertise. Empires of AI: The Rise and Fall of a New Global Order foreignaffairs.com/china/empโ€ฆ โœ๏ธ @nfergus with @ericschmidt and Lisa Klaassen via @ForeignAffairs ๐Ÿ‘‰ The authors argue that the United States and China have established rival "empires of AI" by capturing the capital, infrastructure, and raw compute necessary to control global knowledge itself. ๐Ÿ‘‰ However, they warn that the immense, debt-driven financial overextension of this techno-arms raceโ€”combined with the threat of autonomous model rebellionsโ€”threatens to exhaust both superpowers and destabilise the international order. ๐Ÿ’ก By analysing the AI race through a historical macro-lens, the authors strip away the novelty of Silicon Valley and Beijing, reframing frontier models as capital-intensive imperial commodities that replicate the fragile dynamics of the 1970s Cold War. ๐Ÿ’ก Their ultimate insight delivers a stark warning to tech leaders: the true vulnerability of modern AGI dominance lies not in a competitor's algorithm, but in the classic imperial trap where the compounding costs of maintaining infrastructure and policing autonomous systems eventually bankrupts the state. cc @Corix_JC @TheAIObserverX @maponi @JagersbergKnut @ahier @ChuckDBrooks @Shi4Tech @CEO_AISOMA @sallyeaves @ThEiLe0 @IngridVasiliu @rvp @dinisguarda @TarakRindani @FrRonconii @mvollmer1 @Ym78200 @Nicochan33 @smoothsale @Khulood_Almani @TysonLester @SusanHayes_ @EstelaMandela @JoannMoretti @sulefati7 @FernandaKellner @pchamard @NeiraOsci @darioandriani @ALouiseLavalett @Fabriziobustama @amalmerzouk @arlenenewbigg @mikeflache @RLDI_Lamy @smaksked @Eli_Krumova @PVynckier @drsharwood @chidambara09 @sminaev2015 @Analytics_699 @NathaliaLeHen @MHcommunicate @DanielleLargier

The next battlefield may not be fought by humans alone. ๐Ÿค–โš ๏ธ Humanoid machines moving through confined spaces, coordinating positions and reacting in real time โ€” this is the kind of scenario that once belonged entirely to science fiction. Now the question is becoming harder to ignore: If autonomous robots reach this level of capability, who should ultimately control the decision to use force โ€” humans, AI, or both? ๐Ÿ‘‡ #Robotics #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #IoT #NLP #5G #Tech #Technology #innovation #Bigdata #FutureTech #MilitaryTechnology Cc: @jblefevre60 @Nicochan33 @pierrepinna @RosyCoaching @kalydeoo @Ym78200 @enilev @FrRonconii @CurieuxExplorer @Khulood_Almani @mvollmer1 @JoannMoretti @margaretsiegien @Shi4Tech @anand_narang @Eli_Krumova @HaroldSinnott @bimedotcom @EvanKirstel @Hana_ElSayyed @sallyeaves @SpirosMargaris @ipfconline1 @LaurentAlaus @Analytics_699 @Jeffkagan @AndresVilarino @efipm @FMFrancoise @MHcommunicate @Corix_JC @JolaBurnett @JeromeMONANGE @mary_gambara @drsharwood @smoothsale @sulefati7 @debashis_dutta @dinisguarda @devbhatt72 @terence_mills @BetaMoroney @mdrechsler @MarshaCollier @avrohomg @NevilleGaunt @PamMktgNut @arlenenewbigg

What if a robot could grip objects 260 times its own weight? Researchers in China have developed SpiRobs, soft robotic grippers inspired by octopus arms and elephant trunks. These flexible robots can adapt to objects of different shapes and sizes. Even more interesting, 3D printing enables rapid, low-cost production. Potential applications range from industrial automation to delicate object handling. #SoftRobotics #Robotics #3DPrinting #BioInspiredRobotics #Innovation @AnthonyRochand @Sharleneisenia @1OFFGINGER @fernandolofrano @HeinzVHoenen @EstelaMandela @bimedotcom @dinisguarda @FmFrancoise @nafisalam
